Hey friends! So it appears I will indeed be moving West. I was curious if there are any people on here from, or living in Winnipeg. I would like to know how trans friendly the atmosphere is. Last time I was there I was still in male mode and it didn't have an anti-lgbt feeling either. However I would love to know what society is like there for people like us and what stuff do they have for peer groups. Also has anyone been to the Klinik in Winnipeg? I heard it was good through grapevines but no personal testimonials! I have heard Manitoba has the best trans health care in Canada too. I'm excited about this! Thanks everyone :)

Congratulations on your move! I can't tell you much about Canada, but I know their health care is different than ours. See if you can find a trans gender support group there. They usually have advice about the best Dr.s, both who know the most about our anatomy and are the most respectful and helpful.
Good luck with your move and I hope you find friends quickly there.

Thanks 87 :) I hope to be there in mid May. Currently I am in Ontario. I have one question you maybe able to answer, well two maybes. One, if I get approved for anti T blockers which I am in 3 days, when I move to Winnipeg who do I see for refills and such as I won't have a family doctor :/. Second I know the NDP has became increasingly unpopular in Manitoba recently. However, as is a well known fact that party is more trans friendly and orientated then the Conservatives. Has Brian Pallister said anything about refunding? I know many Manitobans are very progressive when it comes to Lgbt so I doulbt he will flat out say so but has he even hinted. Now for the others, are there a lot of trans friendly groups and areas in the city? Especially among colleges, jobs and ect? Thanks sapphire 87 :)

sure I'll just message you my facebook.
as for the T-blockers you may want to ask your doctor to give you a large amount of refills, and maybe get a referral from him that you could give to a nurse practitioner here. Not really sure how it'll all work for moving in. call klinic to get started on that wait list though. They're the ones that I get all my stuff from but they have an 8 month waiting list so better to get started as soon as you can

Omg winnipeg!! I live in grand forks North dakota and if you are moving to winnipeg and have a passport, you will definitely go to grand forks at least once. I go up there every now and then too. If you ever do venture down here I would totally hang out and show you around. Have a safe move!
