Heya! So I started HRT in December. I went into this in previous posts, but I was initially put on a super low dose of estrogen, not much happened, I went and got a second opinion. The new Endo couldn't believe how low a dose of estrogen I was on. Anyway, after starting with her I switched to injections and got put on T-blockers. So after 3 months of almost no change with the first endo, with one week on injections with the new endo, I FINALLY started to get breast budding. The 'lump' continued to enlarge over the last month. Then I had a one month follow up, and my E injection dosage got increased just last week. Suddenly it seems like my breast buds are going away. The tissue behind the nipple doesn't feel as hard and stiff, and the pain is lessening... Is this normal???? It doesn't seem to be accompanied by any growth... With how long it took me to feel like I'm on track with my HRT, this is freaking me out a little.

I started in December as well (December 1, to be exact) however I had been self med on a low dose before that.

The hard buds behind my nipples are much softer and seem to have spread out. This is within the last month or so. They are definitely bigger though, and growing with a slight pain if I touch them.

I was told that growth happens in cycles so don't panic if they stop growing for a while. You have a good few years before they stop growing completely.

It's normal for that to happen and then the fact your on injections also has an affect on them. I have noticed the buds grow and shrink based on where I am in my cycle too, but depending on where you are growth wise it will happen to. Hugs

I started late December I was also on a ridiculously low dosage. I don't have any buds yet though I do have pretty constant pain. I have been gaining weight in my legs and butt though. I don't really have the financial means to see another endo unfortunately...

What I don't understand is why your E injection was increased if things were going so well at the lower dose? Lowest EFFECTIVE dose, no?

It is natural for you breasts to have a growth spurt then rest then spurt again. I too noticed the cycle coincided with my IM schedule.

Also, one side will grow faster than the other than the other will catch up.

Give the IM a chance to take effect. Take baseline measurements and recheck in 3 months.

My E was at a super low level and nowhere near the level range it was supposed to be when I had my baselines checked with the new Endo. The intent was always to slowly build me up over the first month based off of that bloodwork and then take new bloodwork in three. She didn't want me to start immediately at the full dose because she wanted me to get acclimated. So the moving to a higher dosage was always part of the plan.

And yeah, I think I freaked too soon haha. Pain has come back today, and now there's a rounding effect that's happening where the contour of the area is looking less pointy and more contoured and breast like. And then it feels like the breast bud is just spreading out.

The buds are just to kick things off, once the glands start to develop and the breasts become fattier then the buds will soften.

I hope so.  I've only been on E two months now and the buds are about 3 inches wide and very noticeable under my cami.  I'm starting on some progesterone in 10 days so I hope that will help the fat develop and the buds soften.  My Doctor yesterday said I was way above average in the breast department for this stage of my transition.

Breast growth is weird. When I started, I got a lot of throbbing and pain and sensitivity and could definitely feel the lumps behind my nipples. Then after a few months, most of that stopped and went away. Couldn't feel much behind there. But very gradually my breasts got rounder and stuck out more and my nipples got puffier. Then for quite some time, not really any change except for maybe some very slight enlargement over time. Now? I'm over a month and a half in and in February I was off my hormones for a month, and in the past few weeks I've been getting back to normal and noticed my breasts were getting a bit larger. Now my left boob is starting to hurt again and I have a hard sore lump behind my nipple again. Not sure if stopping and starting the 'mones caused it or if it was just time, but something is definitely going on with them again. 

  I've had to suspend HRT due to pending FFS.  I'm curious to see if I get a renewed surge of soreness and growth when I resume the meds.
