Title: How long is it safe to tuck
Post by: Foxtran on May 04, 2015, 05:13:24 PM
So i'm new to the whole tucking thing and I have only just got it right so that its not uncomfortable but I was wondering how long is it safe to tuck? It seems like after a while it might not be good for you.

Such concerns are in my past but considering when you go on AAs the testicles atrophy and become none functional I'm not sure there is more concern about damage from tucking.

The thing is i'm not on AAs yet because I only recently came out to my parents and my dad wants to take this slowly because he thinks this might be phase (which is SOOOO annoying) so he is not comfortable with me starting anything, the most I can do is shave places guys don't shave, tuck, and change the way I walk and sit to be more feminine. So I guess the correct question is how long is it safe to tuck before you start taking AAs

Well sumo wrestlers and virtually every TG woman has tucked for ever. If it hurts stop, until it stops, if it doesn't nothing to worry about

lets see some days I wake up, shower, tuck and stay that way till just before bed, sometimes I sleep that way. I have tried to avoid sleeping tucked lately, mostly to avoid waking up sore down there though that has rarely happend.

so My advice as much as you are comfortable with. also its like smiling at first it may feel sore after a while but given time you can do it constantly and when your transgender the two often go hand in hand.

someone on these forms had a fantastic statement on the subject of it being a phase it went something like.
"being transgender is a phase it rarely starts before conception and usually ends promptly at death"

welcome to the forums.

So your saying the soreness from tucking for a bit will go away over time

I have been doing it for like 20 years,I started so long ago it's tough to remember, but yes the discomfort disappeared over time, now after a few minutes I hardly notice it. Ya know unless something gets itchy :-P

Thank you, I was tucked for most of today and after school it was fairly sore, but I will tough it out knowing that it will get better.

What parts are sore? The skin sometimes needs a bit of time to stretch but I do remember that early on I was being to extreme with it, things don't need to be stretched to far back.

Its the testes themselves after about 4 - 5 hours I need to stop tucking because they get a bit sore

Hmm that is a bit odd usually when I run into discomfort in that way its almost immediate due to one going in incorrectly, it happens very rarely now but still.

it may just be due to the extra pressure they are under in there, if that is the case given time it should stop being an issue, especially if your on HRT and it causes shrinkage.

I woke up today and was tucked for more than 12 hours with no real discomfort, well not from that area due to a hot work area and some sweating in my pants I have a blister forming on my inner thigh :-(

Yea i'm not on HRT yet (I wish I was) so they are still regular size so that probably explains the discomfort

O MY GOD I FIGURED IT OUT! Today I found an old cup holder from when I used to play soccer, because I have not played soccer since middle school its a bit small and it works perfectly for tucking, it holds everything in place and I can wear panties over it and you can even tell, also its pretty comfortable.

Edit - Homemade gaff before everything to make it nice and tight, than cup holder to smooth it out

Edit 2 - Ignore the gaff, its to tight, cuts of the circulation, just pull the cup holder up to hold everything in place

Ahh the noble jock strap, also popular with FtMs for holding a packer when wearing boxers.

I pretty much only untuck long enough to wash. So other than the 30m or so I'm in the bath and when I'm using the restroom I am tucked. Your testes shrink a bit from tucking as the heat of your body slows down their ability to produce fluids. It can take some getting used to and you have to make sure the tubes are in there too otherwise they get pinched. The only time it ever hurts for me after the first week is when I bend over while wearing my corset (because it presses into them) or when I lean against something at the wrong height.

Really, I didn't know that, I thought only hormones would do that

it's pretty minor but for me the shrinkage was enough to make tucking quite comfortable. Guesstimate would be 1 centimeter in diameter loss. I have been on HRT for 3 weeks now but I was tucking for 6 months prior and it was a definite change before HRT.  I can't find any medical documents or studies to back it up so this is purely my anecdotal experience and I can't offer an explanation. The other thing is that the opening of the inguinal canal gets used to being opened up a bit. Hot baths help the first few times to make the flesh there more pliable. I can pretty much tuck securely with one hand at this point.

How do you tuck so that everything stays in place full time even when using the restroom?

I use the two panty method inner pair has thin rubberized lining around leg holes. I don't stay tucked while using the restroom I have to retuck but it only takes a second. I don't use tape I just make sure nothing is getting pinched. Where it says "when I'm using the restroom I am tucked." there's missing punctuation what I was intending to say is that I am tucked all the time except for when I am in the bath or using the restroom.  There are methods involving taping the scrotum around the shaft but I don't see the point to tape for every day tucking. Maybe for some special occasion I might? It hasn't happened yet.

I find that with the two panties method if I just tug the gusset of each pair a bit to either side leaving the majority overlapping in the middle to keep things in place the half inch or so to each side makes a real difference in avoiding things getting pinched.
