Nebraska Woman Files Suit Against All Homosexuals

A Nebraska woman identifying herself as the "ambassador" for plaintiffs "God and His Son, Jesus Christ," is suing all homosexuals on Earth for breaking "religious and moral laws," according to court records filed Tuesday.

In the suit, entered into the docket as Driskell v. Homosexuals, Sylvia Ann Driskell, 66, of Auburn, Nebraska, asks in a seven-page, neatly handwritten petition (PDF) that U.S. District Judge John M. Gerrard decide once and for all whether homosexuality is or isn't a sin.

wtf is wrong with these bible thumpers (no offense to those who are religious) i can't stand people who think their morals are what everyone should follow. its sick, demeaning and just plain wrong. why can't people just call it quiets because this is the 21st century. let us all just live how we want and desire. isnt that what free will is about? geez. sry, i'm just boiling mad at this

Sylvia Ann Driskell, the 66-year-old Nebraska woman who wrote a handwritten seven-page lawsuit against all homosexuals, will not get her day in court.

A judge has dismissed her motion.

Oh sweet Lord (sigh).  The world has seen theocracies and inquisitions before so why are some folk so keen on wanting them back again.

It's hard not to laugh, but it's very sad, really.

Now I'm wondering how she would serve every defendant with the requisite papers.

Simple enough, really. Everyone assumes they'll be the inquisitor and not the inquisitee.

It makes me wonder what happened to the separation of church at state.  I suppose I shouldn't be surprised someone had the nerve to file this in court. :icon_lemon:

Don't bother serving them on my cousin Mike,he still owes me £5 from 1981 and is permanantly peniless

I think she missed the memo when same sex married couples have the same marriage rights under a Supreme Court ruling not too long ago.

If she is suing on behalf of God, can we counter sue? And if we did, would the case get tossed because the defendant has no access to legal counsel? ;D

Yeah these are the same kind morons that use to burn people to a stake.  This is the reason why religion is dying.  People are fed up with self appointed moral judges who are probably mentally ill.  I don't believe in the bible because it was written by man and I don't trust man.  Show me a bible that written by the hand of God and I'll follow it otherwise it's just BS.

Can I remind folks that we have people of many religious backgrounds here, and we need to keep it a welcoming place for all of them.

I'm wondering if I should have put a note to keep it civil. When I posted it I did not mean any religous offense.

Sadly it is not the religion itself just people that try to twist the meanings to their own ends. Such as the karan from what I understand is all about peace yet some factions of said religion are not peaceful at all.

What we need in the world is love and peace guess that slogan was right in the 60's. Yet as history keeps repeating people use the religion card to promote their ideal world and if you don't fit well I guess you are damned or something.

Fyi I don't wish any ill will to the spiritual that follow any religion just some the twist the meaning and intent of religion to their own gains. Being as if I recall many other parts of the bible indeed mention loving every one not just the straight or whatever thing of the day.

Imagine if it had gone to trial...and the list of witnesses called by the defense (us!)...

Ridiculous bigotry aside, I believe the 1st amendment prohibits the judge from making such a determination.

Also according to Leviticus, eating bacon-wrapped shrimp is a sin.  Maybe we should just round up all of those who don't keep Kosher as well just to be safe?

Actually, I'm more interested in the witnesses for the prosecution.  When they call God and Jesus, I want to see if they actually take the witness stand...
