"Historically, insurance companies have categorized services as being for men or women and denied screening, tests, and treatment coverage for people whose gender listed on their coverage record is not the same as the gender for which the services were designed."

here's what bugs me about what Tobin said and i will quote "It should be based on what body parts do they have." idk if he is saying healthcare shouldnt cover medical needs because you still have the parts of your birth gender or he's saying it should cover regardless. its bugging me

What they are saying is, while a gender marker may have been changed say FtM, the person may still have some of their original female bits, say bottom surgery had not yet been done, in this case, the insurance company couldn't deny screening for cervical caner because a male wouldn't have a cervix, where in this case the patient, while identified as male, might.
