Hello!
I'm not necessarily /new/ to the site, but I only just started posting regularly.
My name is Ryan Daniel H.
I'm 17 almost 18, living in North Texas!
I came out as a trans man about 6 years ago, on December 24, 2009.
I told my friends first, and in 2011 I told my mother.
A week after I told my best friend of 10 years that I was gonna come out to my mother, she got a call from an unknown number. It was me calling to say my mother had sent me to a psychiatric hospital. After that I attended conversion therapy. Many suicide attempts ensued.
Since then I was forced back in the closet. I've been outed and nearly-outed multiple times, always getting severely reprimanded until I took it back. One time I was kicked out for 24 hours because my parents were so against having a trans child.
Now I live fully out at school and with friends- just absolutely not around my parents (even my grandparents and cousins know).
In 2011 I was diagnosed with Major depressive disorder, and panic disorder.
In 2012 I was misdiagnosed with schizophrenia
In winter of 2014 I was correctly diagnosed with BPD(Borderline Personality Disorder)
Hopefully on these boards I can give some advice to younger DFAB trans people, meet others in similar situations as me or in the same age group as me.

Welcome to Susan's!
It is really great to have you with us here, and really nice of you to offer help to others in the same situation as you.
So sorry to hear about what you have been through, but it is good that at least you have friends IRL who are supportive, besides of course, the friends you'll find here at Susan's. :)

Dear Ryan,
it is a bitter pleasure to meet you.
People hurting me and taking away my hope, my trust in others, in myself and in my ability to judge my relationships have caused me to have all the symptoms of depression and bipolar and borderline personality disorder.
Getting away from that toxic situation quite suddenly lifted all of those symptoms to a point where I can not identify with the person I was then any more, although I can still remember vividly how horrible it was.
I have retained and cherished my ability to feel huge emotions, and the happiness that finds me from time to time when I least expect it makes my life worth living after all.
Use the strength you have gained through your experiences to pull through days upon days that may seem hopeless, you can be badass and come out of this whole, even if you fear your heart might be broken forever.
There is life, love and happiness for you beyond this.
You will always find the rare people to whom you can show your true inner self, who will see you and love you for who you are. Be ready.
