Title: Yea, another first as a woman...A Highway Patrol pulled me over for speeding!!
Post by: Dodie on May 26, 2015, 05:20:41 PM
On my way with my ex for a short holiday vacation.. I got pulled over.
The Patrol Man was going the other direction and turned around and got me for 10 over the speed limit..
I was surprised because I was not going way fast..
Anyway, I immediately pulled to the right so he would be safe, got my DL out.. and waited.
My ex was freaking out.. she was like OMG your DL still has M on it what if he is an ass.
I was so calm and relaxed..  I told her to calm down its ok..
When he got to the window. my window was down, our two little chi's long hair barked at him.. he was like.. are those your little helpers.. I said yes, they are the kids and they are naughty..
He laughed, took my DL and said he would be back.
All I am worried about is am I getting a ticket or a warning..
He came back very soon and gave me a warning.. Yea...!!! and said, slow down and have a nice day Mam.
That was it.. I actually enjoyed the experience but my ex was so completely stressed.

Lol congrats.

I'm convinced no one really pays attention to your gender marker on your ID and don't really study the pic.. I got carded today at Walmart and the cashier saw my obviously male ID, rang up the purchase and gendered me female (ma'am).

I like that story!

I've not been pulled over in that situation, though it is sure to happen sometime. Try as I might, my foot gets heavy!

I don't think I would be as calm as you.

I actually got pulled over on my bicycle last night (not for speeding though :P ). He referred to me as she and called me ma'am. That was before I gave him my license which has a very manly photo on it. Then he came back gave me warning and said "have a nice night. ma'am?" It made me lol. Reminded me of anchor man. " You stay classy San Diego?"

And way to not get nervous. I thought he was gonna misgender me and potentially treat me like I am an escort. needless to say I was freaking out.

I have never been given a ticket.. just warnings all my life.. I used to look like a cop.. or body guard so they would treat me like their own.
So, it felt good to get a warning.  I am ready to get that M gone...
I hoped at the tag agency the gal would input a F.. by just looking at me but Its in the system that way and can't be changed until I get a court order..

I felt exactly the same way as you did when I was called in for court duty.

I am 68 and never taken hormones or had any surgery.  I have m for male on my driver's license.   But I had no intention of dressing as a male.  I have gotten rid of all my male clothing.

I went to the courthouse, about an hour, by city bus.  Of my first issue was using the ladies room.   Then I found my courtroom, stood in line for my turn to enter, and reported into the court clerk at the door showing my driver's licence and telling her that I pronounced Michael as Michelle.  She said nothing but thank you, ma'am.  I entered and sat and waited for my turn to be vetted by the lawyers.   When my turn came the clerk, called out, "Michelle Hackler."  I told about myself briefly and sat down.  That was it.   I wasn't chosen for the jury.

But then again, everyone was polite and no one went out their way to embarrass me.   I was pretty much dressed in the manner, as you see in my avatar with the same large white tennis shoes.   I have diabetes 2 and I have lots of problems finding ladies size 15 shoes, so I wear sneakers, which at that size male shoes and female shoes look similar.

Who would have thought it in Jacksonville, Florida?

No one has ever seen me as threatening as a female, and even when I dressed presented as a butch female most of my life, I was never teased for being a sissy, nor was I receive with any male respect, when I presented as one.

I was born with a male's body, but never taken seriously as a male.  I was picked on because I was forever the new kid.  I just stood eyeball to eyeball with my fists clenched and stared the other person down until a teacher showed up and nothing happened.

One kid took a swing at me once, but I inadvertently moved and he hit the brick wall bloodying his fist.   I went into the boys' washroom with him, feeling sorry for him, admonishing him for taking the swing.

Basically, I was too feminine to be a male, and too much of a male to be considered feminine.   I was attracted to other females, but I had no sense as to what things that a male would do to court them.   On the dance floor, I was one masculinely presenting female waiting for another female to ask her to dance,  which meant I did next to no dancing.

Congratulations, Dodie!!!!!!!  I had a similar experience today, and it was so reassuring!  See, I have this new job where I'm being trained in, and my trainer kept referring to the previous people that she had trained in as "the last guy" or "the guy before you".  It kept really worrying me, even though I totally noticed that she treated me just like a female would treat another female.  Finally, I gave her the little talk about me and how I really need my pronouns and identity to be respected in the workplace.  And she goes, "Uh...what?  Wait, you were born male!?  How is that even possible -- you look nothing like a dude."  Lol was sort of awkward, but totally made my day, and now we're friends!

Jasper,
That's so amazing! I was getting eye brows done and the girl that does them was out so this lady said she would do me!
I was like, ok
After she was done I told her how wonderful I felt they treated me even though I was trans.
And she said what! Seriously!
I assumed she knew since I told Catrina.
She said it was an honor to know and she said she was jealous of me and said you make a pretty woman!
One day I will be confident, I hope

Here I go again. Back in the old days the doctor would issue us a letter that would explain to the law the reason why we didn't match the picture. The law was a bit strange about driving with a disguise because they though you might be on your way to commit a crime. All the MTF had that thing stuffed in their purse but I never figured out where the FTM carried theirs. I think I may still have mine in a pile of papers somewhere but I haven't seen it or needed it in years. For me being stopped by the law made me extra careful about my speed and I have only received two. One while I was still in school and one after surgery.
