Title: Biotin?

So I hear that biotin helps your hair and nails grow much faster. Like almost 1.5 inches of hair growth per month, which would be amazing, but does it also make beard and body hair grow thicker too? Because if it does then it definitely is not worth it.
Do any of you girls take it?
I really want my hair to grow, but I really don't want a bigger beard and body hair.

I hear it can help, but with variable results....Biotin more for hair than anything else...
I am older bit hard to tell yet... Been doing it for about 3 months... But I use "hair skin and nails" which has biotin too... Nails seem to be getting stronger, but will take a few months more to see. Hair, well hard to tell as MPB was bad in me, but slowly getting better... Just check online blogs for Biotin... Helps but if you take too much it can make breakouts on skin, but in moderation, check "biotin" under google, there are recommendations...

been on biotin for 4 to 5 months. still using it, but sadly my nails are brittle? strange thing is i never had this issue until either from starting the biotin or stopping the oral progesterone cream? since i have noticed my hair getting better, i have continued the biotin, yet the way i wash my hair now could be the issue?
so, i dont know and why did i write this;) we all are different, it may be working for me, but then? now it may be one of those key ingredients you may be missing and it helps you:) personaly i say go for it, i think its helped my hair, and maybe it did speed up nail growth, but they are brittle..
sad thing i can admit that made my nails and hair grow faster and better was iv chemo for a year. I wouldnt suggest it though! i shaved my head those years, but found i had to shave almost 2x as much after starting treatments. blonds w thin hair and grey hair dont seem to fall out, but its structure changed.

If you're on HRT, Biotin will not reverse the effect that it will be having on most of your body hair (slowly returning to fine blond vellous hairs).

I've been on Biotin ( the hair skin and nails formula) for about 6 months prior to HRT. (My Dermatologist recommended it when she gave me Finasteride for thinning hair.) My HRT doctor said it would help with hair and not effect HRT at all and so far so good. All my back hair is gone and most of my arm hair is gone. I've seen cis-woman with a lot more arm hair than me. I do get a little around the nipples, but so does my AFAB wife. I still get a little on my upper legs but it's mostly white but it grows very slow and I only have to shave my legs once a week. (My mother is the same way at my age and now she only has to shave once a month.)

I want to try it but my hair grows wickedly fast already. In fact even pre transition it was annoying to have to get a haircut every few weeks otherwise my hair becomes an unruly mess.
My back hair disappeared with just HRT. I shaved it once and it has never returned. I wax my arm hair and it comes back very thin and light. I shave my legs and it is extremely slow to grow back (even pre HRT). Could be low T which has been with me for a long time.

That's good. HRT would block Testosterone and prevent the growth of beard+body hair. So maybe Ill start biotin after or just before starting HRT.
Also.
Did you notice how much faster your hair grew on biotin? Is it a significant amount more?

It didn't seem to grow that much faster, but the thickness of the hair strands improved even before HRT. So basically it improved the quality of my hair and made it stronger and less likely to break.
