Title: Just had surgery with Dr Medalie

I just had surgery with Dr Medalie this morning, or June 3, 2015. I have to say, it feels like I got hit in the chest hard with a heavy baseball bat but somehow I already feel natural when I look in the mirror and see my chest is flatter. It's strangely uplifting. If I had to give any advice right now...bring bendy straws and a neck pillow. Just do it.
If you have any questions about visiting Medalie, feel free to ask.

Congratulations man that's awesome! I'm currently on the waitlist and looking at surgery in October but am kind of hoping for an earlier date (but also kind of need more time to save money). Did you get DI, Peri, or Keyhole? How are you feeling?

Kam, I got a DI with nipple graft. Dr Medalie said there was a risk of losing sensation (which I already knew) but I never really had sensation there and whenever they crinkled because of the cold, it always gave me the heebie jeebies so I don't care.
Feeling less like I got ran over by a car. :D The painkillers make me sleepy, so I use ice packs to take care of the pain and swelling. Dr Medalie has a sense of humor. I asked if he went to art school to learn how to draw on me, and he said he actually went to art school for a year.

Wow was he being serious? If so that's pretty awesome and explains why he's so good at what he does.

Congrats, Frank!
When I woke up after surgery, my mom asked how I felt and I told her I felt like I'd been hit by a car :)
Hope you're healing well and feeling awesome!

After my surgery my neck pillow was my best friend. I slept so damn well with that thing.

Hey Frank!
Currently in the process of scheduling my DI with Medalie, hopefully for this coming January. I'm unfortunately paying out of pocket for the procedure, so every extra dollar counts for me haha. I keep seeing Medalie figures around $6100-6200, but that seems $1000+ lower than comproble surgeons doing the same procedure. SO: sorry if this is a dumb question, but is that around what you paid all-in, or is that figure leaving out some associated costs to the hospital or wherever else?
Thanks for the info, and congrats on your surgery!

Hey! Thanks for taking the time to provide that helpful info. Just clarifying: you're getting the procedure with Medalie too, right? Thanks again!
