Title: Herbs post transition.
Post by: Felicity9999 on June 11, 2015, 10:51:56 AM
Hey I have a question. I live in the UK and plan to transition however my greatest fear is that hormones will become very expensive medical items. (They are also removing human rights so I think that would allow them to sell hormones at a huge price.)

Now I have heard that with herbs they have a lesser effect but still contain some estrogen. Would that be enough to stop me getting Osteperosis after I transition.

I'm on herbal supplements and very satisfied with the results. You should do your homework and check with a doctor before starting them, that's just common sense.

Hugs, Devlyn

Short answer no!

Slightly longer answer definitely not.

Much longer answer Estrogen is not an expensive drug to make, it unlikely to become that expensive, and frankly if it were to we'd all have bigger problems than non access to hormones so this isnt something you really need to worry about.

Hi Felicity, welcome to Susan's. This is most definitely the answer to your question. It wouldn't have much of an affect going another route on your estrogen numbers and hormones are a commonly prescribed drug for many different things so I doubt the price would go up as they pointed out. I look forward to seeing you around the forums. Good luck and Hugs
