Title: Going to fast?

Been thinking about how much things have changed in the past few weeks. When reading other people stories about their realization on what gender they really are it always takes a year or two or even years of denial. And even my therapist says I've adjusted awfully quickly. I haven't experienced any nervousness in public dressed as a gal I've only gone out twice now mind you. If anything I feel more confident then before in public. I guess it might seem really weird I've gone from doing boyish things to matching skirts with tops rather quickly. But really for years all I've done is try to fill a void in my life doing other things. And right now it just seems right what I'm doing. And honestly I can't wait to distance myself from "Him" quick enough. I was on the road to ruin to be honest and I've said in another post I would most likely have been dead before I turned thirty.

If transitioning into women's things makes you happier than I don't think it's too fast. Do you have a therapist yet?

Concur 100% with Jake. This whole go slow thing is actually the product of years of unhelpful and destructive conditioning by well meaning but ultimately ignorant elders.
Those of us who never had that, and instead were encouraged in our childhood to explore our gender, would probably actually say that you were going pretty slowly by our standards! (and as for the normal transition to HRT to SRS taking a year or more, by my standards that's positively fosilised! When I finally got to pursue the medical route in the mid 80's I did the whole thing from start to finish in a few months.)
So it's all a matter of perspective. Do what makes you happy, and don't let anyone else tell you how fast or slow, or what order you have to do it in.

Jake, thank you. And yes I'm already seeing a therapist and after one visits he's already leaning towards giving me a note for HRT. He said his other transgender patients aren't anywhere close to where I'm at already. Since I don't have any infighting in me and seem really positive about the entire thing.
And thanks Rejennyrated! I'm just going with what makes me happy right now and so far its a blast.

As they already said as long your doing okay with this speed then it's fine. I know my transition has been very fast as well, bu I have also handled it very well. Remember each of us moves at our own speed. Hugs

I'm happy for you, and glad my advice helped. Congrats on getting your note from the therapist.

Thank you Mariah "hugs" back.
Jake, Oh I wish I had the note already! He wants me to stay living as female for two months before he gives me one. Kind of have a feeling he might give it to me a little sooner.

I started my transition pretty fast too. I'm 30 years old and started taking testosterone when I was 28. I got my referral within 2 months or so to start hormone therapy. I haven't had any regrets whatsoever. I have been so much happier and I use to be on meds for social anxiety disorder and depression. I am soooo much better than I was. I'm not on the meds anymore and I can finally go out in public and be comfortable with myself.

I did actually ask my therepist the same question today, and he echoed what has been said here that if I'm happy not to worry. I've had the last four days off and have lived as a female the entire time and love it! I'm so much more confident and even going out in public does not bother me.So my brain is pretty happy where its at now.
