Title: Any advice or suggestions for anchor/ inverted T re: pain, mobility, etc.?
Post by: gingitsune on June 18, 2015, 12:12:45 AM
Hello all! First post here; I'm scheduled to have anchor/ inverted T top surgery in about a week and a half. While I've gotten info from my doctor relating to general concerns relating to the surgery, I'd love to hear from anyone out there who's actually had this particular form of surgery. In particular, anything about general levels of pain/discomfort post-surgery and in terms of mobility being affected for the first couple of weeks would be very helpful.

I've searched the forums and didn't find a whole lot of info from people who had actually had this version of top surgery, so... ;^.^

Also, if anyone is interested, I'd be happy to post about my experiences post-surgery. Thanks in advance to you all for any advice or information!

I had the inverted t. I think it's basically the same in terms of healing and post op pain. With the inverted T, they don't remove the nipple entirely like they do with the regular double incision, so after surgery I could already feel my nipples which was a weird feeling.

I had moderate pain after surgery, but I was avoiding taking the pain pills because vicodin makes me nauseated if I take too much and I was already nauseous from the anesthesia so I didn't bother. But if i wasn't worried about nausea I would've taken the pain meds for about 4 days at least.

In terms of mobility I was moving around and making my own microwave meals by the second day and could raise my arms over my head by the first week, but it wasn't comfortable to do so until the second week. It still felt funny to raise my arms over my head for weeks, but it didn't really hurt after a few weeks, just felt like a tight sensation
