Title: Virtual Womanhood
Post by: Wild Flower on June 20, 2015, 09:28:10 AM
In not so far off future, theres a virtual reality playset connecting to thousands (millions) of people enabling to smell, feel, taste, see a false reality. In this world, you design your human.... or elf or robot or ogre or mermaid.

Now, assuming your old and such you have more freedom physically in this world. No disabilities, no illness, dont gain a pound.

Would you live the rest of your days in this world, or not? This being close enough to reality that you cant tell it apart.... unlike virtual worlds on a monitor... you exist in this world.

Ahh..to voluntarily enter the Matrix :)
I have to admit that, given those parameters, I certainly would.

Yeah me too....

I hope one day technology gets this good though... need to get a nice pension. Relax in a rundown house on my playset, come out just to eat/poop/sleep.

Let's raise a support ticket for the system admins :)

I already like virtual worlds too much sometimes and a few years ago I would have jumped at the chance, but as I'm slowly moving forward I think I would prefer real life.

My older brother Ben has two little kids, recently broke up with his fiance, then was fired from his job and now spends all his time playing on his silly playstation 4. From 11am when he wakes up to 4am at night when he goes to sleep. I could never do that no matter how good virtual reality became. Morpheus give me the red pill! From Miss Anderson.

What a tempting offer. But I would not even check it out, much less spend all my remaining days there. If things are too easy, it takes the fun out of them sooner or later. If actions have no consequences, they become meaningless. If everyone can easily change reality for their own pleasure, they become addicted and selfish, wanting ever more.

I will stay in this reality, where I am taking a small blue pill (estradiol) every day and try to improve myself and my world as much as I can, looking for achievements, friendship and happiness for myself and those around me.

I have however booked some major exploration of might-have-beens for my afterlife ;-)

I would see it as an escape from reality, which is a prod to my ego. I don't like running away.
So, as a recreational play, to just mess around, yea. As a mean to replace the RL, nothanks.

I'd do it. Wouldn't give it a second thought.

For me, part of transitioning involves escaping the lie that I am a man. I owe it to G-d, my family, friends, and myself to be honest about who I am. Even if it involves physical pain, even if it involves emotional pain. I already abuse alcohol to escape my current reality, I don't need a realistic substitute for reality that could be more powerful than alcohol or adderall. I would escape some pain and lose my humanity in the process.

If I could enter it now at 30 i totally would do it!! Honestly there is so much that I would love to experience but never will and living a virtual life would totally give me that chance
