I'm here in Thailand after having srs done with Dr chettawut. Everything seemed to be going well, I was healing, finally got the catheter out, then the very next day I was struck by this itchy rash that quickly spread (possibly from scratching too much, honestly) from my stomach, down my legs, on my butt, and a tiny bit on my arms, feet and chest. I am very fortunate it hasn't spread to my lady parts, but everywhere surrounding the area. The nurses know about it, and so does dr chettawut, but if they're worried about it then u know it's bad. Meanwhile I'm freaking out wishing this rash would disappear, taking medications that chettawut gave me, and hoping they help clear it up. Has anyone who's had surgery with Dr chett or anywhere in Thailand had anything like this before? I have pics but don't know how to upload them. Could it be from the antibiotics they give you afterwards? I don't know what to do.

It does sound like an allergic reaction to something, the question is what. Hope it clears up for you soon.

It sounds like an allergic reaction.
From the places would it be possible some kind of washing or ointment ? Do you remember some treatment there ?
Does your skin usually react allergic ?
Would it help asking them about vitamin c for example ?
hugs

Thanks girls :)
I don't really have any known allergies that I know of, but it is possible. I really don't recall anything that could have given me this. I'm going back in to see chettawut tomorrow, and he may send me to a dermatologist. Another patient at the hotel also gave me a antihistamine, so I'm hoping that will help.
Hugs
Jess

Sorry to hear about your rash. It really is not a nice thing to happen, especially when you're experiencing all the pain and discomfort from the main surgery, as well.
I went to Brassard. However, I had a rash that appeared a few days post-op. It started from the area where they injected the spinal block and quickly spread across the lower back then to my hips and to around my lower stomach. It was so itchy and irritating that it began to trigger a panic attack. I was administered a hydrocortisone cream, which eventually did calm it down. I also requested something for a potential panic attack, as I could sense myself starting to have some rather dark thoughts. For that I was given an anti-depressant.
I was immediately taken off antibiotics, as a precaution. I knew quite well that it was not the antibiotics, but nevertheless. That had ramifications a week later because when I got back home, I had to be administered antibiotics for an infection along a post-op scar.
I can only pinpoint the cause to sterilising fluid used on my back or some reaction to the spinal block, which I doubt. The injection site had a plaster over it for a few days. My body doesn't like plasters stuck to my skin for more than a couple of days. They leave my skin inflamed. Could have been the plaster. But probably the sterilising fluid combined with the plaster.

I had a horrible rash.
The nurses did not seem concerned though and did not offer any help other than to tell me to try being on my side more.
I used some aloe gel which did help sooth it. I sent you a photo of what I had in pm.
