Hey all, Jay/Jayson here
Next schoolyear I'm taking on a project of raising awareness for the trans community, and I want to know what other people think should be discussed. Some suggestions I've seen have been:
- Non-binary Identities
- Transphobia
- Gender presentation versus gender identity
- Pronouns
Any new suggestions?

I recently attended trans* rights/human rights workshop which was hosted by one of the European trans-rights NGO, and they made very good presentation, which covered all basics for those without any prior knowledge about trans-related issues.
I have their powerpoint presentation and would gladly e-mail it to You if You are interested to look at the outline and order of how those various issues were presented. PM me if You are interested.

I gave a talk recently on issues affecting trans people. Here is some of what I touched on:
- Difference between sex & gender
- Gender policing and the stigma of being gender variant
- How we are seen by major religions
- How we are viewed romantically
- Troubles in updating documentation
- Bathroom issues
- Transgender people in the criminal justice system
- Gatekeeping and medical care issues
- Transgender people as parents and significant others
- Discrimination, harassment and violence
Hopefully, this gives you enough material. You can pick and choose what fits into your project.

Assuming its a student group. you can also act as an academic support unit. Study habits, sharing about classes, guest speakers and of course, as mentioned, being a place where you can talk about experiences and issues.

I feel like people's personal stories are good to share, or doing a study to get statistics relevant to trans people, for example how many percent of trans people were bullied as an example
It does also depends on the format of the project, so will it be an exhibition, paper ect.? And maybe also consider your specific audience, is your school heavily religious? How old are the students? Is there general understanding or have they only ever heard of it from television?
I'll second some of these as good ones (in my opinion) to focus on:
