A Thousand Women

A thousand women.
The backs of their heads.
The backs of a thousand heads.
Blond, brunette, graying.
Long hair, short, up in a bun, or cascading around shoulders.
All turned from me.
These are the eligible ones.
Lesbian of my generation.
But they are turned away.
No tone, no volume, no words can cross the chasm between us.
...

Some angry poetry I wrote.

I hope you find someone Suzi. I know I keep making false starts in this area, I figure it will probably happen although I'm so used to being my own person, to not really needing someone on my life that I worry about just drifting on that way. I know I'm very fussy, I might meet someone who is great in many respects except "one" and that could be enough to quell my interest in them, even if that one thing is a minor quibble. But it seems a lot of women are like that as they get older too. I expect that if I do end up in a lesbian relationship it will either happen out of the blue and catch me by surprise or it will develop over many months. Here's hoping anyway. :)
