Title: Thinking about shaving my head

I really want to shave my hair but I'm pretty sure my mom will trip out again if I do. I have cut my hair short in the past and she has gotten to the point where she doesn't freak out as much about it anymore. This time is a little different though, first off I want to go shorter then I have before. Also I have always had it cut in a girly short way with the bangs in front as a bit of a compromise for her. Is it selfish for me to want to say screw compromise and have it cut the way I want it?

Presumably you're old enough to cut your hair however you want? Your mother won't be the first parent to get freaked out over their child's hair cut.

It's totally not selfish of you to cut your hair. Just let her know that, that's what you wanna do, she'll have no choice but to accept it. I'm sure she only wants to see you happy. Tell her this so she wont be surprised when she sees that you've done the big chop. If you feel within you that its the right thing to do, then by all means do it. We only get one chance at this life, it would be ashame to waste it on caring what other people think. Good luck on your hair! :)

At the end of the day its only hair and it does grow back, point this out to her. I went through major arguements with my dads family about mine cause its my head and ill do as i please. I pointed out it grows back, and that its not like im cutting off a limb so they can get over it

Thanks for the support guys ^-^ you are right I am old enough to make these choices and it is my head I just have always done my best to respect my mom's wishes. I even wear the stupid girly clothes she buys me when she is around haha. I give my mom a little extra leniency when it come to the it's my life and I'll do what I want stuff. I only do because I sort of understand her reasoning, she already has a son and wants me to be her beautiful daughter. In a twisted way it makes since I guess. On the subject of her gluing it back on my head I honestly wouldn't be surprised if she tried lmao.
