in regards to a lot recent posts about passing, looks, man in a dress, and ->-bleeped-<-r than thou, it occurs to me that much of these discussions sound like young, inexperienced girls talking about who's pretty, and who's not. girls that are not pretty can just forget about catching a hot guy, so, what the heck, you might as well enjoy yourself and get fat, too.
except for one thing. pretty and attractive are not the same thing. i have known some pretty ugly girls that were extremely attractive. how can that be? i don't know, really. they've got that certain...something. it's funny how you know, but i can tell that i am attractive to certain guys at my work. in months previously, as a guy, i was just a nameless cipher to them. but now they can really see me. and they are polite.
and i've got these long, skinny arms ending with big, man-hands, splayed out like duck feet; sometimes i can't get my eyebrows right, and they often look rather choppy. but i can see that none of that phases these guys. somehow, they still like me.
so even if you're not the most beautiful, even if you're not pronounced pretty, that's no reason to let yourself get out of shape, no reason to stop doing what you need to do to be your best. pretty or not, you still can be attractive.

I agree. And pretty isn't the only thing that turns heads. Sometimes there's a woman who's simply unique, special, and her features become her much more than a stereotypical 'pretty' face would.

In my experience, I believe men find confidence just as attractive. There something about a person who walks in with a certain confidence that draws eyes towards her. Beauty will always have some power over men, But it can't always keep them.
