It's a little shorter and I don't have that pattern on my neck tho. How often should I get it cut to keep it looking nice?

In the military, I got mine cut about once a month (had to keep it off the ears, "whitewalls"...the person in the link has them, but also has sideburns). Once out, I still got "buzz" cuts, but they were about 3 months apart.

There were guys who got 2 cuts per month, and others who could squeak by with every other month.

Of the pompadour I have no experience.

Even though I'm not biologically male, I get my haircut every 3-4 weeks, but it's not as fancy as that. My friends get theirs cut every month or so as well. I would think with a haircut as precise as that, and depending on how fast your hair grows, maybe around a month for you too? My hair grows really fast, so it's different.

Same here. My hair grows faster than average so I get it cut every month. But it varies per person. Just go when you feel like it's getting too sloppy.

Thanks yall. I got mine cut almost a month ago and am now noticing that I need a haircut, but I didn't know if I was just being high maintenence bc most guys in my family don't get haircuts that often (then again they all kinda grow their hair until they look like surfer dudes).

I think for a special style like that talk to your hairdresser explaining how you like to look and take it from there.

I have to cut mine around once a month to keep it looking decent, but since we have different hairstyles I don't know whether it'd be the same for you or not. Maybe ask a hairdresser for their opinion.

Honestly as much as I can afford. I work in a casual space so hair getting scraggly isn't an issue. Sometimes I let it go into mini ( somtimes not so mini) fro.

Also, going to depend on how fast your hair grows. Mine is like a chia so if I wanted to keep my hair fresh I'd say minimum once a month.

I think a lot of guys try to adhere to their company appearance policy, but for me, for the longest time, it was every time I looked in the mirror and thought "Oh hell, I'm gonna hear about looking girly again"...until I fell into the goth crowd in high school. Having long hair made me feel more attractive, and when my parents saw the confidence boost, they kinda let off. I've only cut my hair recently to try to find work.

Before I transitioned, I had my hair cut every 5-6 weeks to keep it neat and trim..

Some of my friends don't
Some do it every few months
Friends dating hairdressers do it ever so often

I used to grow it out all year and then shave it to 3mm.

It depends on the hair style and how fast your hair grows.  Assuming you go to the same hair stylist regularly, ask them.  If you don't go to the same hairstylist, start doing that so that they know your head.   ;D  That's a great hair style and I suspect in order to keep those nice lines in the back (the top part), you will have to go every 3 weeks (4 at most).

I get mine cut every 3 weeks to keep it clean cut.  I like the way it looks and work in a professional setting.  My hair grows faster on testosterone I have noticed.  I used to get it cut every 4 weeks, but it was also a bit longer, so I could get away with it.

If you need to setup appointments well in advance for your barber, then about 4 weeks (unnecessary at most places that cater primarily to men). Otherwise, just wait until it is no longer "looking nice" in your opinion and drop by for a haircut.

I'm keeping my hair only slightly shorter than it was pre-transition (longer on top, in fact), but I find I'm having it cut about twice as often: about once a month instead every two months, or even longer. Funny -- I seem to care more about my appearance now that I actually like who I am.

The answer is, "it varies."

I used to get one every 3 months but that was because I was extremely terrible about it. I hated grooming myself as a guy.

I have a colleague who would get a touch up every 2-3 weeks, but he's a pretty boy and spends a lot of money on grooming, lol.

Its kinda hard to tell. I used to cut my every month, but if I wanted my hair to look always good, I needed to cut 2 times per month. Some people's hair grows very quickly, but others dont, so, depends... guess you will have to try by your own to know.

A factor not mentioned is the type of image you need to project. A man in sales may have their hair cut more often in order to maintain the perfect image. An assembly like worker may get it cut when it starts looking shaggy. It really comes down to what image you will tolerate. With the style you are wearing the short hair on the side is going to require trimming often to maintain that look. If you went with something longer, you would find it required cutting less often. As a child, I had a Flat Top and that required regular cutting.

I still get mines cut since I don't like long hair but like everyone says, it all depends. I use to get mines cut every other week

I tend to cut mine 2-3 months apart because I'm cheap. If I cared for making sure my hair always looked awesome I'd cut it once every month. My hair grows pretty quickly.

My ex was cheap frugal (we had three kids, two of whom were boys, plus me). $15/haircut x 3 is a lot of money on a single income...so we bought a home clipper set. She specialized in the easiest to cut style: The Buzz.

She once tried to give one of our sons a Mohawk...turns out that is actually a pretty hard cut to do...the edges were straight (she'd focused on that aspect), but the entire row went from center-forehead to left side neck...wide in front but narrow in back. Son got a buzz instead LOL!

I've had long hair since I was 13 so... I cut it myself over a trashcan when I notice split ends. My brother gets his cut when he decides he's tired of the white guy fro or the fire department makes him. My other guy friends all have buzz cuts like my brothers so they all do each others hair just whenever they feel like it. I think its about once a month or so.

Personally I like my hair cut every two weeks. My partner, who is in school to become a barber, told me that two weeks is the closest time one should get a haircut. Like everyone else has said, it's all about personal preference.

I don't think I have a specific time period, I just get mine cut when it starts getting too long, although that's probably every 3 or 4 weeks. It depends on the guy and how fast your hair grows. One of my friends gets his hair cut every week, he's a cis male.

As a kid I went with my dad to the barbershop pretty much every Saturday. It was the only way to maintain that shaved sides look my dad's generation considered as the only proper way to for man to look. Haircut frequency really depends upon the style and your rate of growth, but for an extremely short-sided style like the one in your picture I'd imagine two weeks is about the most you could go.

As an adult, even during my occasional short haired periods, I always chose styles that could easily go a month or more without a cut. Unless you've got lots of money and enjoy sitting around the hair shop why go with a high maintenance look?

I get mine cut every 2 to 3 weeks to maintain my hairline, I get lineups and thoes tend fade out quicker, also I get my sides tapered frequently

If thats your ideal "i just want to upkeep" hairstyle then you should cut it every two to three weeks depending on how fast your hair grows. The reason being that the lower shaved half will immediately show when it grows and it'll change the look.

As far how often i get my cuts it depends on what style i'm in the mood for. If I'm keeping it shorter then once a month or so I cut it. If i feel like growing it out more grungy and long I'll go two to three months in between haircuts.

It varies really depending on the person and length. I usually go to barbers once a month cause I generally like to maintain my sides short.

I'm growing out the hair on top at the moment, so fading down the sides every 2 weeks. The top gets a very slight trim once a month.

I should be getting mine cut every 2 weeks because my hair grows at the speed of light but I wait until a month goes by usually cause I'm lazy :'^).

Some guys go to get their hair cut as many times as they go to the doctor each year. Others buzz-cut their hair to accomplish the same thing, not paying someone money.
Guys that care about how their hair looks will have it cut before big events, every 1 to 3 months in general. As well as each time they decide to change its styling/color.
Note: the more you care about how your hair looks the more guys may call you a girl or a ->-bleeped-<- (at least that was my experience). If you don't mind the typical jerks and embrace the label of metro, blithely disregard them and have awesome hair that will draw lots of positive attention from women.

Shorter neater styles every 1-3 months.

Personally I hate going to a hairdresser, the places make me nervous as hell. So I have longer hair and learned how to cut it myself.

Once a month for me, especially when it gets too fluffy!

Usually once a month, maybe twice if I go into Chia pet mode.

I hit the barber every 3 to 4 weeks. My hair is super thick, wavy, and grows fast. If I wait any longer in between cuts it starts irritating the hell out of me.

I think it depends on the person and their personal preference. Personally, I cut my own hair so every few weeks. I have friends who get their hair cut every couple of months and actually have one friend who gets his cut every 2 weeks, so it's completely your choice.

I have a low fade hair cut and it grows very quickly. It's one of them things that it looks bad if you leave it too long. Some hairstyles you can just cut once a month or maybe even more and it still looks good.

Depends how short your hair is. The shorter it is the more often you need it cut to look neat. I'd argue that every two weeks you'd always look really fresh. Once a month you're probably good.

It really depends on everyone to be honest, my hair grows weirdly it may be a month and a half and the shortest of 4 weeks.

My dad used to get his hair cut every two weeks weather he needed it or not.  He and his friends went to the same barber, so i think some of it was a meeting place for him and his friends.  Me, i have not had my hair cut in years.  At least 12 years or more, hehe probably longer. I am a old hippie.  I like long hair on everybody

if it's longer, every two weeks... if it's cut shorter then every three weeks to one month. it looks best when i cut it more frequently, though.
