Title: Support Groups in UK - Midlands

Is anyone able to share up-to-date information about any support groups in the Midlands? I really don't want to travel to London or beyond on a regular basis to connect with other transgender women in person, and would strongly prefer to find a more local support group nearer to Birmingham. Any ideas?

Hi, there are a few which run regularly in Leicester, They run out of the LGBT centre. Look them up and see if that suits?

Thanks for the input. Leicester is a little far from where I am to be feasible. I'm south of Birmingham.
I have Googled this subject (many times, over a long period of time). Very little. GenderMatters has now shut its doors for good, and the other handful of small groups seem to have last been active in like 2003 and don't respond to emails. The other thread on this site that was referenced is from before GenderMatters closed and is out of date.
Has anyone actually recently been to a group that meets in the Birmingham area (or south thereof)? I should have been a little more specific in my original question, because that's really what I was asking. I'm rather surprised that such a large city seems to be lacking at least one prominent trans support group.
Or maybe it's time for me to get off my backside and start one?

Well, quite a few people start meetup groups... you might think about a few statements setting you apart from dating services...
