Title: Any new development in voice resonance?
Post by: Amy1988 on July 09, 2015, 07:41:23 PM
I'm really more interested in feminizing the resonance of my voice rather than the pitch because judging from the extensive amount of research I've done, feminizing the resonance of the voice would go a lot further to voice feminization than merely raising the pitch.  So I'm asking if anyone knows of any voice feminization specialist who can feminize the resonance?

I Think most of the "usual suspects" mentioned a lot here will do that. Melanie Phillips DVDs, Kathie Perez live sessions as well as her offline programs, the FYFV DVDs, candifla YouTube videos. Any good voice feminization program or therapy will focus mainly on things that are not pitch

Oh I was referring to surgical procedures to feminize resonance.

Some of the techniques, especially glottoplasty changes the timbre of the voice, so it has less masculine "undertones" to it, which also changes the way the voice resonates, because those low frequencies are not there anymore and otherwise they would resonate in the throat.

The only option so far that I know which deliberately changes resonance surgically in some way is the big surgery by Dr Thomas in Portland, who will actually take your larynx apart and make it smaller as well as place it higher. But its a rather big surgery and seems to have some possible complications - it also leaves a bit bigger scar on the throat , I believe.

I'll check him out. Thank you.
