I need serious hair removal.
My electrologist is taking care of the facial hair, but I'm not sure if she can do enough hours to make an impact on body hair as well. It looks like it could be years just for facial hair. I am a bit impatient and hair is one of the things I am most dysphoric about.
I have body hair to the extent that I can't be sure HRT will even have much of an impact. Worse, it's very light coloured and I don't think laser will work. It's even in places I'm not sure men should have hair ???
I have heard of places in the US where 2 people will do electrolysis on you at the same time, for several hours at a time. This is the only thing I think will have enough impact.
I also heard waxing may have some effect in permanently reducing hair?
I feel like I need ideas or help to devlop some kind of hair removal strategy. I kind of want everything gone except the amount of hair/places that an average cis woman might have.
Best wishes :)

Hi Sarah,
I understand how you feel, I also had quite a bit of body hair before HRT.
I'm doing electrolysis on my face and yes it's very slow going, I'm getting there though! I used to do waxing on my body but, for me anyway, there wasn't any reduction in regrowth unfortunately. I've heard of some people having that happen but it didn't for me sadly.
The good news is that after being on HRT for well over a year now my body hair is reduced to pretty much female levels. Chest/stomach and back have mostly disappeared. I have to pluck/shave a few stragglers once in awhile but that's about it.
Hope this helps and good luck :)

Thanks, Emjay. That's good to know. So hopefully I might not need as much electrolysis as I thought. I was kind of thinking, if it takes 3 years just to do my face, the rest of me won't be done until about 2050 or something. Feel a bit better now, thanks :)
