Title: Unpadde Bras vs Padded Bras
Post by: Joi on July 19, 2015, 07:39:18 PM
I am so happy now to have enough development to actually fill the cups of a bra. However, I have shied away from buying padded bras. (Kinda feel like I'm cheating if I wore the padded ones.)   When I have shopped for bras, it seems that most of the styles available are foam padded and obviously they sell  a lot of them.  Is this a comfort thing for women or do you think it's more of a means to achieve a bust line that is fuller?

I love softcup bras, but padded gives you shape plus the pad for them cold moments.

Each to their own, see what feels better and do whats right for you

The thickly padded bras enhance size (and can hide erect nipples),  but quite a lot of "padded" bras are just lightly lined to make the cups keep their shape. I mostly wear that kind, and it's not enough to add any apparent bust size, but it does shape and support my breasts a bit more than the fabric-only soft cup. I find the soft ones wrinkle up on me even when they fit, and it bugs me. :)

In my experience most cis girls seem to be sensitive about the fact that their nipples show through when they are erect.
Don't know if this is a modesty thing or not.  Mine are always erect and it doesn't bother me a bit. It's not that I'm an exhibitionist, I'm just proud of them.

I am still only wearing sports bras, and only when I am doing a lot of physical activities, because I am hoping for more growth and am a bit of a pinch penny. I have two thinly foam padded ones that are great for days when the girls are extra sensitive or sore.  Beyond that I am basicly still woefully ignorant about bras.

One of my favorite bras is lightly padded and wireless. Very comfortable. But I put in inserts, not just for a bump up in size but also for extra padding and filling out the cups. I'm technically a 38A but I'm more between A and B so I wear the sister size 36B. I don't quite fill the top of the cups though but with inserts it's just right. So now I have the added bonus of actually being able to find bras anywhere. :)

And why worry about 'cheating'? Women do it all the time. Little girls stuff their training bras and big girls pad, use push-up bras, get implants, and whatever other tricks they can get away with. Very normal and typical.

Still waiting for mine to get sensitive. Perhaps I'll get one then.

padded bras are good especially for younger girls and those who are still in some level of development, not only do they hide the nipple issue, but they lend shape, it can take a long time for breasts to fill out. Check out a girls breasts when she is 18 and again at 25 they may not have gotten much bigger but they tend to be fuller, before that happens there shape can be a bit weirder than latter on and the padded bra helps there.

and for those of us who still need significant outside assistance but cant afford the super expensive breast forms. (or refuse to buy them because glue and borax do a good enough job) padded bras do a great job of making things look uniform.

plus ya most women at least sometimes wear things to fill there chest out, its as common as using make up to cover up little flaws. Heck I know a cis girl who feels she is tragically flat chested, usually she is ok with it but a lot of dresses and some tops assume more up top than she has, so she asked me to make her little flubber booster breasts for when she wears them.

Serena, who has like two or three pairs of pads and gel enhancment things but still mixes breasts in a cookie bowl. :-)

I have another problem with my bras.

Firstly, I don't feel comfortable without an underwire and I do like deep wings and and a 3 hook clasp. I just feel more confident when I am strapped in tight!

I have a couple of bras with no padding, just soft lace half cups. These feel lovely when first worn, and they do hold my breast tissue up, but I eventually sag and wobble in them. Also my nipples protrude a lot through the lace.

If I wear padded tee shirt bras, I feel a lot more snug and supported, but my nipples get squashed flat, negating all my hours spent pumping them.

Is there a bra which gives lots of push up & cleavage without nipple flattening?

I just bought a bra at Target that's really good. I was buying only hook in front bras because they're so easy to put on. I went to Target a couple of days ago to get another bra and was shocked they didn't have any . I don't know if they stopped selling them or what happened so I was forced to buy a different type that latched in back. I found a really cute lace underwire bra that's almost a push up type. wow , it's cool , my breasts are more pointy and lifted. I don't like trying to hook the bra from the back so I found that I can latch it and pull it over my head so no need for the latch in front any more. I'm a happy camper now. its not much padding to it but very comfy.

I love my Maximizing Wonder Bras

Foremost because I do get to "cheat" some. But not really cheating compared to gell inserts or just plain stuffing which I did for ages (BTW- the stuffing extended to areas beyond the bra  ;D ) Comfort wise I find no difference between sheer, lightly padded, or "enhancing" cups. I still cannot believe I am saying exactly what every significant woman in life has said... "It feels good to take off my bra"

Good news everyone! I no longer need my inserts to fill out my B-cups! : D I mean, I could stand to fill them out a bit more, but there's enough there that the cups don't go all out of shape or dent anywhere. :) *Dances.*

I have to wear padded bras because I don't have enough development to fill out an unpadded one.

I've been wearing only sports bras, but that's about to end. I hit my boob with a stack of flat-packed boxes today. (I work in a wearhouse.) Ooh, did that sting! Besides, I want to look nice for my next endo appointment. Good thing I get paid again before then. My last check went to catch up bills. Only thing I did for me was get my hair done.

I wear padded bra's most of the time even though I have D cup breasts..

The reason, the padded bra makes my breast look better and more rounder. My nipples are often erect as I have quite large nipples. The padded bra helps hide this.

I wear mostly push-up underwire bra's. I love my breasts and love the cleavage I have been blessed with.

Alas, the girls are so tiny that it's next to impossible to find bras in my size that are not padded.

No boobs here yet to speak of (maybe an AA?), but I've been experimenting with bras.  My first one I bought was a 38B Wonderbra b/c I ordered some silicone breast forms that were about that size.  The 38 was really too big in the band, and the forms were not shaped right for me, so I stepped down to a 36A Wonderbra that would hold its own shape well under a shirt with nothing in it.

I later went for a bra fitting about a week ago and they stuffed me into a softcup 34D with foam rubber falsie inserts!  Yowza!  It really fills out my dresses, lol, and actually looks fairly proportionate.  On the large side, but proportionate.

So now I alternate between the 36A with nothing and the 34D with inserts depending on my outfit.  The 36 and 38 Wonderbras are padded with cup-size enhancers (pretty useless at this point).  They hold their shape on their own with nothing in them, but the 34 is just a softcup and needs the inserts for me to wear them so they don't collapse.

Not really sure if that answered any questions for your or was at all helpful.  But it seems the general consensus is to make your boobs look bigger/shapelier if possible, and to hide erect nipples.  ;)

My fav bra is the vasarette wire free lightly padded. The padding for me is more about comfort rather than size. It helps prevent distraction from sensitive nipples and cushion the hurt that kids will give you when they bump into you or pile on you.

This post has generated a lot more interest than I would have imagined.  I'm still awaiting the sensitivity stage (maybe tomorrow) ;) But, based on the input so far, I see padded bras in my future.  I have heard a lot about the "Wonder Bra" and bought a couple of unlined bras at VS last month. Maybe a "Wonder Bra" is in my future as well.

Hugz,
Joi

I have never had much luck wearing Wonderbras.

They come up very small in the cup and band size, so if you are large chested and small boobed, they might not cover your fitting range.

Basically, if you are bigger that about 36" genuine band size, then you are out of Wonderbra coverage. It's a pity as I would love to try their strapless & cross-strapped offerings!

Well no "Wonder Bra " for me.  I'm a 38 and that's a stretch! ;)

Yes,

I am currently a 38A to 38B, and finding a brassiere which fits comfortably and supports me is very difficult. It doesn't leave much scope for choosing pretty colors or lacy styles.

There seems to be a void between 36A and 38B, so that bras in 38AA, 38A or 40A size are difficult to find. I have tried wearing a 36" band with a bra band extender, but that takes the straps further apart on my back, so I then suffer from fallen bra straps.

Also sizing between makes & styles is a problem. I have found that some styles of M&S tee shirt bras fit me quite well after several washings, but other styles in the same 38A size have bands which are suffocatingly tight or have massive cups which would hold three sets of my boobs!

As I get bigger, I should move into larger cup sizes which should solve the problem: 38C & 38D are common sizes.

I tend to bid for used bras on eBay, which can often be secured cheaply. If they fit me well (so do) I keep them, if not I take them to the charity shop.

Well, I wore a 38A until someone told me 36B was the sister size. The cups were still a bit large on me, but I just used inserts and it fit fine until I grew into it. :) I'd say it's well worth it. Great to finally bra shop and find my size!
