Hi.
I'm 30 years old. I have been married to a cishet man for going on eight years. I am here to help come to terms and understand my feelings towards my body. I've never truly felt safe enough to explore the meaning of who I am. What began as a way to truly understand and embrace genderqueer and trans folx so that I could be more knowledgeable and inclusive in my activism has brought me to a place where I am starting to understand myself a bit more. I always took gender for granted. I always thought that your biology is what makes a person male and female. What a silly notion that was.
I have been searching for a while for a definition as well as a label that I could call myself that would help me find people that feel the same way I do. I've never felt comfortable calling myself a woman- almost like an impostor. I'm not a man, either. When my gender identity is asked or brought up, I usually just say 'I'm me'.
Anyways, I hope that I can make like-minded friends in my journey of self-discovery. Thanks for reading my blurb. :)

Hi Scrawlix, welcome to Susan's.
Maybe you are non binary. Either way, I think you will figure it out. I'm glad you found your way here.

Hello, fellow Canadian!
My brother dated a person of nonbinary gender. Said person was very shy, and didn't share much. Lacking a good noun to describe them with, I just started referring to them as a "Person." As a Canadian*, I suspect you can appreciate that. ;) When my doctor asked about my gender preference, and I didn't want to go into my rather strange theories on gender, I just said "Person."

A nice big warm welcome to you Scrawlix... from Edmonton 8)
Hey I do not think you are alone in your self view, many of us have been there! the actual journey you take is dependant on how crystalized your desires and view of yourself is...
...But I love your approach "I am just me!" that is so fundamentally true!
Welcome and look forward to seeing you about the forum's

Thank you everyone for the kind greetings :) I'm glad to be here. I've been scrounging around, reading and absorbing all the information here. I think this is a fantastic place. I hope that I can add my voice to it.
I've got a lot on my plate right now- I've moved across the country and I'm living in a hotel room right now until my home is ready. But I have had the chance to talk to my husband about everything that is going on in my head at the moment and he is on board. I'm formulating a plan- an idea of what I want to do. I'm going to get my chest binder soon (as soon as I have an address, that is!) and have researched which one is best for me -- thanks to this forum!
Anyways, thank you again, everyone!

Hi Scrawlix,
I'm in Saskatchewan, around 4 hrs drive from you.
I'm male-assigned-at-birth, but have also done a lot of non-binary questioning. We're about the same age and I also have a spouse of about the same relationship-length. If you'd like to, I'd be happy to connect. :)
