Title: How much of an impact do you think Jazz and her TV show will have on acceptance

I was just watching the People clip on Jazz's next program on it struck me as very intense. If I would of seen a program like that when I was in grade school my brain would of really freaked out in deciding that was exactly who I was.

Just caught two episodes last night and really enjoyed it. I really hope that the show will have an impact and show that trans people should be treated fairly. I did get kind of sad last night when she went to a support group and one woman had a back ally face injunction that went bad. But she didn't let that stop her from living her life. Also really impressed that they brought attention to the risk's of dating as well.
I definitely enjoy it a lot more then I am Cait mostly since the family seems down to earth.

I feel that she is doing a great job at opening awareness and acceptance with younger people, and her families support should help some people understand a bit more that it is ok, reading some of the comments on her posts however clearly show that we still have many others that are not supporting of her or her family. I truly wish I had been that brave and understanding as a child, That being said I do believe that every bit of awareness and exposure help us to some degree, it takes a long time and many generations to make the changes that I wish for

Kids say the darnest things, but Jazz is an exception; she says very meaningful things. Things anyone who struggling with accepting themselves and others could learn from.
The only way this show could ever impact the majority audience would be when they become open-minded. This show's viewing is quite exclusive to open-minds, not closed ones. Which is why I fear to even share this wit my pops. If he ain't like readin' a book 'bout it(an educational one, therefore free of bias at that), why on earth would he ever open up his heart to a tv show about it either? :-\
However, I do have some hope. Just cause my dad is as stubborn as a boulder, don't mean the rest of da world is. I think things'll get better for us. We'll see. :)

I kind of shied away from it because it would probably make me depressed. I mean I'm happy for trans youth but it reminds me of missed opportunities due to how it was in the 80s where I was born and grew up.
But I may watch an ep or two to see what the fuss is about.

It does bring up missed opportunity feelings but she is such a little sweetheart that its nice to see her get so much family love and some reasonable acceptance from others.

Hopefully it will help open some eyes and minds but I'm afraid that those who most need to see it and see that transpeople are just normal folk with a problem that can be treated and deserve to be treated with respect, that it isn't a choice, for God's sake, won't watch. Unfortunately, the transphobic people will ignore this for the most part. Yet, hundreds of thousands, maybe millions will be exposed to the reality that trans-people are first and foremost PEOPLE, and therefore deserving of respect.
In my mind, any good publicity is GOOD publicity.

I think it will help all the kids that have had this on their mind and help them see the path that's possible. I know it would of gave me the awareness that something could be done and not something to be so ashamed of and kept a dark secret.

Yep, back in the 60's there was ZERO awareness in the small town I grew up in, so happy for the new generation of trans kids...at least they have some answers and help available

I honestly love the show can't watch a single episode without crying but back to the point lol I honestly think jazz and her family on the show will bring awareness to the issues of us trans ladies and with that hopefully a greater acceptance however I know we will always have those people out there that don't accept us for who we ie religious Biggots and close minded people but hopefully we will be accepted more thanks to all the shoes out there now about trans individuals

I didn't know who Jazz was, but I watched her first episode, was quite sad. Hrt in growing bodies looked pretty complicated.
