Srsly, I dreamed we were working together on a problem at my desk, and the answer to how to fix it was printed on the inside of my bra strap.  /facepalm.  So weird!

- when, as a  child, someone refers to you by your birth gender and you correct them.

- when many people refer to you by your other-than-birth gender and the rest just refer to you as "it".

- when your doctor totally understands your desire/need to 'transition'.

When your the only girl in your geek group that doesn't think of a dragon when someone says spiro.

...you are very familiar with meaning of HRT, SRS,GCS, FFS, and VFS.

When you wake up at 3 in the morning to take your HRT meds without fail.

You spend more on electrolysis than you do on your food, clothes and housing combined.

You look back on life, and realize that you've never had a fear of losing your testicles.

When you see a good looking and well dressed lady, and the only thing you think is

"I wonder where she got that dress"

I'm not sure how many times that has gone through my head.

When someone says to you "You throw like a girl" and your thought is "That explains a lot."

When your doctor tells you, "I had some doubts when you told me you're trans, but since you started HRT you're a happier and nicer person."

When you look at your stomach and think, if only

When your friends and family teased you for having a beer belly by saying you're x months pregnant and secretly you wish that you were

When you think only 20 pounds to have the figure of a girl in the mirror just 20 after walking 3-4 hours a day for 55 days straight to start transition

Hope and love

When you put on a dress and it doesn't feel like it's crossdressing

When your savings goals center around the next surgery you're having

When your dreams are things most cis people get for granted and don't even cherish

You have a salesgirl comment on a male co-worker as difficult to train and you automatically reply ,'But he's a man, what do you expect" and not even stop to wonder what made you say that.
And yes , I have done just this recently.

....when a friend makes a jape involving one's genitals freezing solid and falling off, and you wish that it would actually happen to you.

When Facebook family relations that say sister, brother, niece or nephew mean a lot to you and not just because family.

When your primary consideration for clothes is not,"will this make me look fat?" It is," will I pass in this?"

Well ... my comment gets this set-up:

My endocrinologist first prescribed DES as six 1 mg tablets each morning.  Sometimes I got 'morning sickness'.  When / where I was still presenting as male, I could not / did not explain why.  Once I transitioned to female, my female co-workers recognised my symptoms and asked me when I was due - thinking I was pregnant, their sentiments unknowingly encouraging me to feel even more female than I could ever imagine.

Those co-workers did not find out because I was working temp assignments that lasted maybe a couple months or so - never enough time to 'show'. 

Added to the morning sickness, those symptom must have cued my brain because I frequently experienced night-time dreams of being pregnant on days when I had morning sickness..

Remembering when I would steal my sisters clothes and dress and the day my sister caught me and said I knew you were a girl and stop stealing her new clothes but could have what she didn't wear anymore. I also love the fact she never stopped encouraging me not to be afraid.

When you hear a group of female coworkers or even other women talking about nail polish,  tricks, how long it takes, that they peel off too easily and
1) you want to join the discussion but you're not out yet
2) you know exactly what they mean because you do it too.

When you have a thought about wearing different clothing and it ends with "Yeah, but the other girls..."

when you pick out an outfit, and think "I hope this makes my butt look big"

Being delighted when you find nice shoes that actually fit your feet.

When a mtf goes into an endo dressed as a guy and doctor says "you have low testosterone." and your response is "yea".

you browse susans.org daily and are giddy about little things like, being on HRT for 6 months or posting a new picture you have taken out of 10 or 20 to finally show off who you are inside.

When you are able to say "yes im a girl" for the first time to someone without feeling shame or guilt from your fears.

I finally had that conversation with my grandmother yesterday an and educated her on what trans is felt so good to finally be able to say I have a girls brain in guys body

Yes, I'm a girl, a woman and trying to become a lady!  And you're so right - the fear is gone.

So right!  I sometimes forget to eat. But, I never forget my electrology appmnt.

- When dating someone that doesn't know your history involves issues that most people never have to worry about.

- When you see your previous gender's clothes on sale somewhere and the thought of ever putting them back on makes you feel physically ill.

- When you take a handful of pills each morning and each night and are excited to do so.

That happy thrill you feel when somebody refers to you in the third person as "her" or "she".

I had been out of the 'community' since the mid-1980s - basically the past 30 years.  I re-entered this past Springtime.  When I saw those initials the first time, I kinda guessed what they meant and in context I knew for certain without anyone ever telling me or having to find it written somewhere.  Perhaps it is in our instinct to know those alphabet soup parts of our process.  I have had to explain these initials, terms, and concepts to some otherwise LGBT-friendly and aware associates and contacts.

My mother upon learning that I liked to wear feminine underwear posed this ? to me.  Why? And the only answer that I could come up with was the soft texture of the fabric and the fit made me feel happy.  She suggested that perhaps purchasing men's underwear that was made out of nylon might give me the same feeling.  I agreed to try this and bought some (which were hard to find in the late '60's). Tried them for awhile.  Positively didn't work

Yes!  I do tend to ramble at times.  Sometime being verbose is verboten. ;)

You know you're trans when deciding whether you want to let your eyebrows grow in a little thicker is an existential crisis, but the idea of having your boy parts downstairs turned into girl ones doesn't give you a second of pause.

While not out to anyone, and presenting as male. You walk into the men's room, see that both stalls are occupied but the urinals are empty and think to yourself "I wish I were a guy."

When you're washing your hands in the men's room sink in Ron Jon's Surf Shop presenting male and a guy walks in, sports you, spins to look at the sign on the entrance and finally walks in confused....

-or-

You head to the restroom in the restaurant at South of the Border with your cis-female BFF, peel off at the men's room (once again presenting male) and afterwards she asks why you went to the wrong restroom....

-or-

You feel uncomfortable and in danger in the restroom associated with your gender assigned at birth.

But, wait, there's more!...
