Title: Kumu Hina
Post by: Allison Wunderland on August 25, 2015, 02:28:41 PM
Kumu Hina -- featured on PBS "Independent Lens"

"All people have kane and wahine spirit. Mahu express and embrace the spirit of both."

And this spirit has opened the doors for me. There's a link for sign-up, mailing list, etc. I have NOT included these links. (And so hoping it's not "spam" -- 'cause it's not intended as spam.) I just think this is an important cultural concept and want to share. Mahu has opened doors for my mind and spirit.

The film takes a lot of focus, lot's of Hawai'i linguistic concepts,  terms, cultural perspectives.  I have my copy on DVR.

-- Apparently the full version movie/film is rented/sold. Not available online for free. (Which is short of tragic.)

I like it - the spirit of aloha.

If I had my druthers, I'd druther be living in Hawaii.
