As I've been doing more and more research I've become more and more excited and I definately know for sure this is something I need to do. However I've noticed most transwoman are skinny and I weigh 250 lbs on a good month. It fluctuates between 250 and 320 and I've struggled with it my whole life. It's honestly genetic, three of my grandparents are naturally obese and both my mom and dad are too. So my question is: will my weight negatively impact me at all?

While you don't need to be skinny, extra weight is a problem. There is some health risk combining hormones with extra weight and surgical outcomes are not as good when you have extra weight. There might be doctors out there that require weight loss before they will provide treatment which could limit your options.

When i had my surgery they told me 5hat my BMI needed to be 30 or under in order fo4 me to have the op, i have always struggled too with my weight but i can honestly say that it can be achieved.. they told me that if your over a certain wait it could cause problems when recovering like blood clots for excample...
But dont let your weight ruin your dreams because like i said i was under strict guidelines (by the NHS) and with every doctor there guidelines differ...

I'm not sure where you're seeing mostly skinny trans women, but there are some of us out there who are less so. :) I'm around 220, and that has actually been an advantage in some ways - I'm very curvy and big-breasted and my face is nicely soft - and hasn't really been a significant disadvantage. (My surgeon agreed that health and fitness level was more important than weight, too. I managed to lose maybe 15 lbs for surgery as a side effect of getting as fit as I could, and I had an excellent and quick recovery with good results, so weight was in fact not an issue.) I might prefer to be thinner, but I'm in very good health and mostly happy about the places the fat went, so...
