Title: Keeping tissue supple ahead of SRS
Post by: Dana88 on August 26, 2015, 05:52:40 AM
So, I've heard from trans women before, as much as you may not like it, it's a good idea to use what you got until you have SRS. Often I hear, 'at least once a week,' to keep the tissue supple and the blood supply flowing well so that the tissue is best prepared for SRS. Thing is I've always had MAJOR genital dysphoria. Is there any other way to reach the same ends other than using the testosterone monster? I'm having my SRS just short of six months from now.

I'm not sure if there are any other options, since in my case I have to use it once a week to keep my foreskin from either fusing to the head or closing off.  So unfortunately, that meant I had to find a way to do it while keeping dysphoria to a minimum.  What I do is get aroused like I normally do, female style.  Then when I'm sufficiently aroused, I'll switch to male style, but basically detach myself mentally and emotionally.  It pretty much becomes clinical at that point and is over with fairly quickly.  I treat it like I would having to do any other disgusting medical treatment and that helps remove the "male" component from the act.  I really don't like having to do it though, and am counting down the times I have to do it until that useless fleshy lump is gone.  Only 12 more times!  :)

dunno... I barely ever use mine for anything other than peeing. I'm having surgery in a few days. I'll let you know what the surgeon says. Personally I think that sounds like an old wives tale.

Due to lack of skin Tim Terry advised me to stretch things to improve my chances of getting any depth as neither he or any other UK surgeon will do grafting of skin on someone my age which at the time was 43. When asked how he replied use your imagination. I never bothered using his option although I did stretch things as you would elastic.

Depending upon who is going to perform the op and what type you choose to have I am not sure using the offending part as a male would is so vital. I certainly never used it that way for 8 years before my SRS even though at times in the mornings I would wake up with a surprising event which I blame on needing a pee.

Yes well Chett did a graft on me aged 48. I was told it was not the surgical policy of The NHS to include grafts because of the risks like the skin dying or the graft giving way. I wonder if it is more to do with a lack of training in how to perform surgery that way? I know Mr Terry went to Thailand to see how the Thais do it.

I do exercise "him" often. However I am uncircumcized (I'm guessing you're probably circumcized) so I have a few options that doesn't make me overly dysphoric.

For me it's more of a self check of the ability to have the O. I used to have full body lasting well over a minute before HRT but that has become intense by a factor of 10 since a few months in.

Oh... I long ago came up with techniques to achieve orgasm and feel like a girl while doing it... Mostly involving a shower head and pushing things up inside me O:-). Been doing that since I was like... 14. Haha. But actual using the boy parts the way they're supposed to be used is rare and has been since around that age.

And me too, things have def gotten more sensitive on HRT.

My SRS is scheduled for mid January 2015. Still have my libido and I have my O almost daily but it so very different than when a man, so no dysphoria! I also make sure I stretch all the skin daily when I take a shower. In the initial doctors exam for SRS he indicated there was more than adequate skin but I just want to be certain. Dont want to be short changed. Oops a horrible pun.
