Welcome to Susan's Place. We are the one stop shopping center dealing in no cost information. No, really. All you need to to is post to this thread or any other that contains topics that you are interested and anyone else who has posted to the thread will be notified of you posts.
It is pretty simple in hind sight but you need steps like the following
Therapy, HRT, Hair removal, Putting together your image, cross living for a year and then surgery.
While it sound simple there is money and time involved in each step. I don't know if you have addressed any of this but pick a place to start and ask questions. By the way, most often you need therapy before starting HRT so therapy and hair removal are good place to start.

Hi and welcome to Susan's.
I'm in my 30's and have just started my transition. My first steps were to find a sympathetic gp who could recommend a therapist, then after organising my therapy appointments I arranged for laser hair removal for my face and started a skin care routine.
I also started a weight loss plan, diet and exercise, overseen by my gp. When I reach my target weight I'm going to buy my first cloths and start hrt.
I'm still not set on my new name I'm using the feminine form of my middle name at the moment but I don't really like it.
I hope hearing our stories can help you find your path.
Hugs,
Bobbi

Warm welcome to Susan's Curious
I know how you feel, I finally started mine 12 years ago, after 46 years of having no clue, I am now, at last, ready to move into the final run.
These forum's have a wealth of info and all sorts of folks in very different stages of transition, so please don't be afraid of asking questions, you gather lots of info that you can assimilate and use to help your situation and timelines.
Look forward to seeing you about the forum's

Hi Curious, welcome to Susan's. We all often start out that way so don't feel that you don't know everything that you need to be able to move forward with your transition. As has been pointed out that is what we are here to help with. I look forward to seeing you around the forums. Good luck and Hugs

I mostly worried about passing? I keep seeing people mention Different drugs when it come to HRT, what is the best? What determines breast growth? Will having my testicles removed improve the effectiveness of HRT? Will it still function? Can MTF have orgasms from breast play?
I'm already seeing a psychiatrist, should I just tell him i want to be a woman?

I would share as much or as little as your comfortable doing with them. I'm not sure if they specialize in transgender patients or not, but if they don't you might to go to one that does. It's best to consult your doctor in that regards. The HRT cocktail differs for each of us and is based on what is right for our own bodies and it also differs from place to place. I wouldn't recommended getting tripped up by that because there are so many countries and so many different meds out there that it can get confusing. It's best left up to an ENDO or your doctor. It's one of the most common concerns we all have. Do we pass. I would check the before and after thread out. https://www.susans.org/forums/index.php/topic,168444
It will help you see how so many of us have changed so drastically since starting our transitions. I think you will be surprised how well you will pass when the time comes. Can you yes, but again that can differ from person to persion. As far as down below functioning, I differs from person to person but for many you will lose that ability eventually from HRT. I hope that helps. Hugs

I didn't see many people my age on there, but the ones I did look amazing. Is this a small sample size or do people my age (20) respond better?

Generally the closer to the original puberty the better the results, but that doesn't mean for those of who are older that we haven't done really well too. The biggest factor really comes to genes and the HRT route on the most part. There is more than one thread of those though so you might find more younger people in the earlier versions of it. Secondly, your right it's just a small sample size as of what can happen. Hugs
