Title: Just sent coming-out emails to family...

I decided to come out to my immediate family (most of whom are across the country) via email. I had emails for my mom, brother, grandparents, and aunt all ready to go, and I just found the courage to click 'send'. So as soon as they check their email they'll know.
I just had to share. Feeling frightened.

Two major steps in a week. You had your first adventure in public and you have informed your family of your status. Take comfort in the fact your wife is still with you and you will have support from another. I hope your family is equally accepting.

My step-dad tells the story about how I went from deciding I wanted to move out of the house for the first time to having a plan and doing so over the course of about a week, though he doesn't know about the months of brooding and wondering ahead of time. Once I have a plan and am confident that it's right, I move fast. It's getting to that point that can take a long time.
I've already heard back from my aunt and brother, both of whom are being awesome. It's more my mom and grandparents that I'm worried about, and they probably won't see until tomorrow.
