Title: New bedding!

Bedding has always been kind of a big deal to me. When I was little, I would get attached to certain pieces of bedding (pillows, comforters)... I suppose I took the idea of a security blanket to a literal extreme. I would have a very hard time when I had to abandon a beloved piece of bedding. Even now, I rarely change blankets or pillows, I build perfect set ups and maintain them for years. I mention this to make clear how big a deal it is for me to decide to change bedding, in a lot of ways it's the biggest step I can take next to HRT at this point.
Recently, I've been looking for more ways to express my femininity. I'm losing weight and my HRT hasn't stared yet, so buying clothes (while fun) is not very cost effective in the long run. I needed something that I could invest in and keep, so I bought bedding. It's nothing special, but I went to Bed, Bath, and Beyond and bought a bed set (comforter, pillow cases, sheets) and then to another store and bought a Vera Bradley blanket. I need to work on the rest of the room, and the apartment, but the bed is the centerpiece and it's "right" now.

Believe it or not, after six years of HRT already and presenting as a woman when i go out (not at home, transphobic parents, I present androgynous with them) it just occurred to me to buy a new set of pink sheets and pillow covers. I should have done that long ago. I need to find a way to paint my closet drawers pink as well and throw away all the depressing masculine clutter i have everywhere but it's so difficult to get rid of things one was attached to at some point.

I'm in the same boat. For personal reasons, I have not started HRT yet and I have only come out to a few people. As a way to subtly start expressing my femininity I was thinking about redecorating my bedroom. Nothing over the top. Some new bedding in a lighter color, perhaps a few throw pillows and a dust ruffle to give the room more of a feminine look and feel. Then maybe top it of some soft frilly curtains. Basically just make it not look like a boy lives there ;).
