Title: Hello I'm new here
Post by: Fennekin on September 18, 2015, 08:33:11 PM
Hi everyone.
I don't know how to write an introduction so here are a few things about me.
I'm 17 years old and I'm in my last year of high school. I live in Canada. I'm an ftm trans guy. I haven't picked a male name yet. I'm only out to my mom and my maternal grandparents and they didn't take the news well. I still present as a girl because I don't know how my friends and my classmates will react when I tell them that I'm transgender. I'm looking forward to starting my transition in the future when I'm financially independent from my parents.

Welcome Fen :)

You know whats nice? It's your last year of high school. When you're done with that you don't have to see any of those people again and you can do what you please. Maybe in the mean time find yourself a part time job, look into places that offer great medical benefits that can help cover your transition. Not the most ideal place to look but check out some retail stores. I work retail, been doing it for about 15 years. Started when I was 16 and was always able to find a job in the field. They're always hiring and most of them pay pretty well now.

Hi Fennekin!  Coming out to those close to you is a huge step; I wish I had your courage.  I'm waiting until I'm independent from my parents before I come out to any family members, and I'm so anxious about telling them.

Like RaptorChops said, the nice thing about high school is once you're done with that, you're likely to only keep in contact with those few people, if any, who you've bonded with, and if they don't take the news of you being trans well, then they probably aren't as close to you as they think.  And finishing high school marks a step in starting the rest of your life, so to speak, and it sounds like you've already taken steps to make sure you live the life you want to live.

Warm welcome to Susan's Fennekin

Thanks for joining us, it takes a lot of courage coming out to those closest to you, you've done that and over time they will understand. Oh and your intro is fine  ;)

I wish you well moving forward on your journey and look forward to seeing you around the forum's
