This may seem silly to ask but... Would I receive a prescription for hormones from my normal MD or would I see an MD specializing in trans issues?

Any doctor, nurse practitioner and any others with a DEA license (in the US) can prescribe HRT.
It is recommended but not necessary that you see one who has experience with trans issues, however.
I see a nurse practitioner but she is at an LGBT clinic. My hormones are prescribed under informed consent.

I go to a LGBTI primary care with 8 practitioners of which 2 are MD's and the rest NP-C's and PA-C's. All of which write scripts. I live in an informed consent state.
