Title: G'Day
Post by: Sophieraven on September 24, 2015, 03:18:04 PM
Hi all, First off i'll tell you all now i'm no good at this stuff so if you want to know anything just ask. So Here goes. My Name at present is Simon and will become Sophie at changeover, and i'm obviously MtF. I'm 45(born 1970) have known i have Gender Dysphoria since i was told at about age 7. First tried to Transition at age 15 ish on my own but as you can imagine it failed. I was driven underground after a huge spat with my Father at 17 after having to leave my job as a trainee riding instructor. Since then i have had a series of spectaculer failures  which i have laughingly called relationships. The Last of these Was with a Friend of mine from years ago, who has been helping me start another go at Transition. She realised that it would never work till i sorted my life out and face up to what i really was and get something done about it. We have split up but are still friends and are supporting each other in getting our Life sorted out.
So here i am at this point i have started the process of coming out to friends and coworkers, and have managed to scare the Boss who thought that i was asking for a meeting to give my notice in, he was relived to find that it was not that. I am now in the process of syching my self up to confront the doctor and my 10 year old son, after that the rest can find out as i meet people.
So thats me, i hope to meet you all as i question my way through the next few years, and i hope i don't ask too many dumb questions.
Simon/Sophie

Ps sorry about punctuation and spelling but they arn't my strong points

Welcome to Susan's Place. Your introduction was long enough to tell us what was important to you and it told us you really belong here. Isn't that what an introduction needs to do? In any case, this is the place to ask questions and if people didn't have questions, there would be no need for Susan's. My transition was delayed by at least 4 years because there was no place to ask questions and I learned how valuable information was. As for spelling, the only thing that is saving me so far is the Mac spell checker. That chunk of software really make me look good. Feel free to ask any questions you might have and we will do our best to answer them.

We issue to all new members the following links so you will best be able to use the web site.

Warm welcome to Susan's Sophie

Another Sydney sider here too

Lovely to have you join us, I was scared of visiting the Doctor 12 years ago, after many years of nearly making it... still biggest issue is coming out to the family. I guess some of its fear, disappointment and whether their lives are affected in any way... so know where you are at.

Look forward to seeing you around the forums.
