Title: Feeling very insecure about my jaw
Post by: PsychedelicSage on September 26, 2015, 08:37:12 PM
I have a pretty square jaw and I feel that it like totally ruins my appearance. Dx this is a recent pic of me.

And it's not just the square glasses making my jaw look worse than it is. I got new glasses and they barely helped.

I would look pretty decently feminine if it wasn't for that jaw.

Like I hate how I feel when I see a woman with a feminine jaw, I get so beyond jealous and really dysphoric.

I just think my jaw is so gross.. I think it's what's giving me such a hard time with dating. And my jaw just makes me feel horrible.
and I'm pretty broke so FFS is not an option for at bare minimum two or three years.

Is there anything I can do to minimize the appearance of my jaw for now? Hairstyles, makeup tricks (have to be quick and look good in most lightings, no contouring please), anything at all? Thanks.

IMO your jaw line doesn't look super masculine or anything, I think if you had longer hair you wouldn't pick up on your jaw so much. you have really feminine looking cheeck bones. I'd play that and your eyes up when you do your makeup. you're actually super pretty!

Idk I just think I look way too masculine.

when I started transitioning I was really self conscious of how I was displaying myself/ being perceived. I started nitpicking everything that I was doing, and every feature that I perceived as masculine. At the end of the day though, none if it changed who I was at the core. Realizing that I no matter how i appear, that I'm always going to be me, was sort of an epiphany for me. I don't question how feminine I look or how I'm coming off as much now, deep down I know that I'm a woman and thats all that matters to me :)

Maybe it's a bit late, but girl, you look beautiful! I have a pretty square jaw, so I know the struggle, but you look absolutely fantastic and feminine!

I think you're adorable! You really don't need to worry about your jawline. And I second whoever said you have nice cheekbones.

If you still want tips for hair though:swoopy longer hair, stay away from harsh haircuts (like straight bangs, straight bobs, etc), your bangs and glasses are perfect.

^her face shape is a lot like yours and I think her haircut would be cute on you

Imo it isn't your jaw at all. It's actually the distance between your upper lip and your nose that reads as masculine.
