Title: Scared & Anxious
Post by: Zoe Louise Taylor on October 09, 2015, 02:37:52 PM
Heya ladies.

So ive been living as a woman outside of work now for about two years!
And ive desperately been trying to get a job, so that i can live full time!

Ive been to an interview earlier this week, that went really well, and i recieved a reply a couple of days ago asking me to attend a second interview, which is more to just meet the rest of the team!
So its really positive!

Im scared however because have said that as soon as i find a job in which i can live 24/7 in the female role, i will fully come out to my parents!
If im being honest i hadn't really thought much about coming out, as my main focus has been trying to get a job, and sorting that part of my life out! Now that im so close to securing a job the fact that i may have to come out to my parents really soon, is a reality!! :/

This has made me horrendously anxious! I feel so alone, and im terrified! I know that this is what i need to do, and that coming out was always going to be something that i would need to do! But now its a reality and im going to have to tell my parents in the near future im just so scared!!

Would anyone be willing to tell me there stories of coming out, and how they went about telling your parents?
I think alot of the reason why im so anxious is that i dont really know how im going to tell them! so any advise would be great!! :D

Thanks
Zoe

Xx

I advise people in your position to sit down and write a personal letter to the person you want to know about the true you that has been hiding for so long.  The letter doesn't have to be delivered to them necessarily, but gathering your thoughts on paper will help when the time comes to sit down at an appropriate place, at an appropriate time and break the news.  I also advise people to have some written information about ->-bleeped-<- handy that you can give them so they understand that your gender identity is a natural condition that some people are born with, that it has nothing to do with how they raised you, and that it is treatable.  Good luck, dear.
