Title: I want to create stp Packers..
Post by: Myfriendscallmecody on October 15, 2015, 12:51:15 PM
I want to create cheap stp Packers targeted for the younger guys or people on a lower budget. I have basic ideas right now but I am open to any suggestions anyone has. And or partnering with someone else. I eventually want to make my own silicone prosthetics.

Hey, I don't really have anything to offer but I have been trying to do this myself for a few years now. It seems that making silicone packers is some sort of secret process. I have searched the entire interwebs and no one has documented or even spoken of making professional quality packers. Only homemade dildo's unfortunately. I have been researching special fx and prop making but silicone and all the ingredients are really expensive in Australia (where I live, they don't even sell the stuff). Apparently it must be a big and profitable business if they are keeping everything quite. I have never found a packer that suits me and I'm an artistic perfectionist so I reckon I could do them better. Anyway, if you find out something that I couldn't, you should totally let everyone know. And good luck in your noble endeavor  ;)

You could look into tutorials on making halloween masks/props and such. The basic process would be the same. Sculpting what you want to make, making a mold, casting, types of silicone. It would give you something to start experimenting.

Forreal tho, I've looked everywhere. How the heck is there no information out there? I guess when people know how to do it they can profit highly off of their creations- so why share?

jdowellc and zetabtte99 welcome to Susan's Place. I have never handle a packer but my dilator under doctors orders was purchased from an adult book store. There may be a resin activated latex rubber that will have the correct consist for your project. I would query places that distribute casting resin products to see if the stock something that would meet your need. About 50 years ago my dad worked with some of the early products and I am sure over the years they have greatly improved.

The process seems very basic, but theres alot of room for error without proper equipment.
First make a clay model, then cast it in a sturdy material such as plaster, resin, or silicone. One part molds are the easiest to work with, but you can make 2 part molds.

One part molds will lower the risk of airbubbles greatly, but a 2 part mold will allow you to make more 3D products (so if you want 3D balls, you usually need a 2 part mold. With a 2 part mold your chance of airbubbles are extremely high without a vacuum chamber. Vacuum chambers are VERY expensive though.

All together one model could cost you around $100 to make the mold for, and then each product could cost anywhere from $30-$$70 to make (no those are not retail sales prices but cost prices)
Hense why costs of silicone packers are always a but high no matter how basic they are.

For silicone, dragon skin is a good one. Its often used to make lifelike babydolls.

One thing you should look at is mold release agents. Your yield will be far higher if you don't have the risk of the material sticking to the mold. Fiber glass uses some good ones and often the mold for the fiberglass is made out of fiberglass. The mold release is the only thing that keeps them from sticking together. Making a mold out of a flexible compound would make the separation process much easer.

Air bubbles could be reduced by using a long tube to insert the casting agent into the bottom of the mold instead of letting it drop in. The less the agent is churned, the fewer air bubbles it will have.

Thanks Toysfortransmen, I've recently looked into the fake baby trend (which I never knew existed so I learnt something) and it looks very promising. Yeah, the cost is the downside for me. I'm hoping to revolutionize cost effective packer making and selling in the future. Where there's a will there's a way etc.

I actually found something at the emisil website recently. Describes (somewhat) their steps in production.
