"In a move some say will help the transgender population feel more welcome on campus, Cal State Long Beach is set to let students use the names they identify with, instead of their legal names, on certain documents.
"If you identify as Emily and your roster says Jeff, that is frustrating to a student," said Alejandro Muro, an LGBT graduate student assistant who works in the LGBT Resource Center. "It creates anxiety. That's something we don't want students to experience. We want them to feel comfortable on campus.""
