Title: Does anyone else not pass after years and years on HRT?
Post by: lemons on October 21, 2015, 01:46:56 PM
I started transition at 24 but I still don't pass as a woman at all.  I've been on hormones for 3 and a half years, I know it's bone structure related because I'm way too big to be a woman, I'm bigger than most cis men honestly.

I'm only 6 feet tall too but I went into transition built like a tank.  Every trans community I feel I step into online or in person I only see very very very few who can never pass at all.  I guess I'm one of those.  Most people are somehow able to with enough time or surgeries or whatever.  I don't even think FFS could save me.

I don't even need to be stealth or passing 100%. (who does?)  Just would like to be seen as a woman most of the time by society.  I definitely still don't look like a cis woman.

From the very few pictures I've seen, I disagree...  But I digress, nothing anyone tells you will ease your frustrations.

2 years on HRT for me and I will never look cis. I do all right in nice make up and dress, but I will never look cis. My age doesn't help either, but I move on. I'd get all the surgeries  if I could , but I lve in poverty so that aint going to happen.

I think this may be due to the fact that as cis-women age (especially after menopause), they look less feminine than before. Still feminine, just less feminine. It could be that Christine is matching closer to cis women her age and she probably has a lot more estrogen in her system than a cis-woman her age.

The full time thing makes sense for me because after going full time, getting my voice fixed and now my name changed/gender marker changed I basically own the world.

And with that confidence your chance of being clocked is less. Sure, some of it is looks but I am no spring chicken and yet I somehow manage to pass without effort.
