"A 63-year-old transgender woman has been denied her pension because the Department of Work and Pensions views her as male.
In the UK, women can currently retire earlier than men.
Former soldier Sandra MacDougall of Glasgow had started receiving her pension last November, after passing the current female pension age of 63."

Perhaps it's unfair, but the whole women retiring two years earlier than men thing seems steeped in unfairness. I can't think of any earthly reason why women should retire earlier than men.

In fact, given that women tend to live longer than men on average, the reverse (letting men retire earlier due to dying earlier) would make some sense. This makes zero sense.
