Title: bit worried, 3,5 month hrt, no skin changes yet
Post by: meow8 on October 30, 2015, 04:04:40 AM
I thought that the layer of fat beneath the skin was supposed to change, making it softer, and more importantly smoother. But i have noticed none of these things, the wrinkles in my face seem even more pronounced than before hrt.

Three and a half months is not very long, give it a bit of time. You can always help it along with moisturisers and regular exfoliation.

I noticed skin changes at the 6 month mark or thereabouts.

Just remember, "a watched pot never boils"...

Hi Meow,

Don't fuss too much. This is a marathon you're in, not a sprint. Lots of things go into the HT formula. Skin type, pH, HT format and delivery type, your body's uptake rate and this list is not exhaustive. Expect changes still happening 5, 10 years out.

Sit ack, relax, enjoy and embrace.

Huggs
Catherine

I thought I was noticing changes in the first month. My odor definitely changed, but I was like, "I think my skin is improving," and, "I think my boobs are growing."

In reality, my nipples were hurting and my skin was just less oily. Mostly noticeable on my face. I think my pores got a little smaller for a few weeks too, but they seem back to their old size now.

At 4 months now, I can say, yes my skin has changed now, but it hadn't really changed back then. It's very dry from the Spiro though, so I use a lot more lotion than I ever did and that may be it. My veins in my legs are MUCH more visible than ever before, and my legs actually seem to be feminizing. Strange that that'd be the first thing I'd notice, lol.  I also have to get a lot of IV medication, and I've noticed that the big veins in my arms are ever so slightly less prominent.

What I mean to say is that the changes are extremely subtle, and depending on your dose, age, and estrogen sensitivity, they will happen at a different pace from everyone else. After you dose is increased one or two times, if you're still not seeing any changes, your endo may suggest an alternative delivery method or a different drug altogether.  To reiterate Catherine, it takes a long time, and changes continue for years and years.

What is your T levels?

I have been on HRT for 28 months and I am still noticing changes. Like others have said HRT is a long term process.

Check the skin by your clavicle and shoulder. I think I notices softer skin there first.

It varies. I had changes in the first week but things only really took off after 6 months when my dr increased my spiro.
