Title: is childhood abuse still a reason to be rejected for SRS?
Post by: Jessie_Heart on September 23, 2007, 01:37:00 AM
At one time I had heard that if you abused as a child that you would most likely be rejected for SRS is this true or is it another wild myth?

In all the years of therapy (5 different therapists) and hoop jumping I went through in preparation for SRS the subject never came up. So I would be inclined to believe it is a myth. YMMV

It's tripe Jessie! :)  I don't see why it should matter.  Any surgeon who rejects a candidate for GRS based on this rubbish should have his medical license revoked for life.

Unequivocally wrong since I had SRS two years ago and a well-documented history of childhood abuse.  No serious
studies link gender disorders with childhood abuse or trauma.
