Title: How did your testosterone therapy affect kids (and pets)?
Post by: Andre87 on November 23, 2015, 12:30:01 AM
I'm interested to find out whether your HRT affected younger members of your family and pets?Adults have prejudices and rely more on words..but I've noticed changes in their body language.

Since I've started T,my 3yo son's behavior changed. He insists more often on my presence..When I was absent for few days he sat on my bed and told grandma that sheet smells like me.Probably because my body smell changed.

Also he's more willing to cooperate, and listens more carefully.Overall our relationship improved. He wants to include me in every activity...and often treats me like a buddy

Hello: Andre87

yes I have noticed,
that my cat, changed not
really his behavior more
so he follows me around and
snuggles more. He did not do this
when I was pre T. I have also noted
my friends dog acts weird now; he like
is scared of me if I raise my voice. Odd I know.
Like he normally would follow me and
snuff my butt, now he sniff my front.
I'm guessing this is due to the change
in the way my body smells. I also note that
when I use men body spay. Some children
in my family can *Smell* and relate that to who
I am.

Haven't been on long, but my dogs don't seem to care or notice, and I know that my scent has changed a little and my skin has gotten a lot oilier.  But they are just as needy and annoying as ever, always wanting to be with Daddy 24/7.  ;)

My female cat won't leave me alone. Before she would want attention from me sometimes. Now it's all the time.
The biggest change has been my boy cat. Pre t I would make up in the middle of the night to find him humping my leg. Now he doesn't do that.

My dog doesn't care and hasn't changed at all. My dad's dog hates other men, so I was worried that there would be a shift there, but she also hasn't changed at all. I know some people's animals do act differently, but the ones I am around on a regular basis haven't.

I don't have or like kids, but I do have some very young cousins who have seen me in the course of my transition. They also do not seem to care. They needed an explanation as to what was going on with me, and after they had that, it never came up again.
