Title: Quick Question About Starting

I have my hormones (HOORAY!!). I just have one question, I am a smoker and am quitting as soon as I take my first dose. I've smoked today as I haven't taken any hormones yet. Can I begin tonight without risk or should I just wait till the morning?

It takes a few days for the smoking to taper off...

if on oral estrogen you might use tablets sublingual, if its micronized bioidentical estrogen...
this way its supposed to go around the liver with intake...
and less causing clotting factors and strain on the liver...
its also supposed to be more effective because the liver builds down part of it with oral (not sublingual) intake...

some people additionally take a small dose of aspirin...

just talk all of it through with your doc...

Smoking interferes with estrogen absorption ORALLY, making estrogen concentrations lower in the blood. Studies have confirmed this whereas non-orally, no difference.
