Title: Any recommendations for Therapists in Ohio?

Hello men and ladies,
I'm not going to say a specific area, preferably around the Akron/Canton area [This is not where I live, just the closest area I saw compared to the rest of the locations.] maybe even Cleveland. Anyways, any girls or guys here have any recommendations for Therapists in Ohio? My dad is relying on basic web searches I believe, and I would rather not have money wasted by someone telling me I'm wrong in believing I'm a "woman trapped in a man's body" and all that. So if any one could help me out with recommendations for a certain therapist in Ohio, I'd be greatly appreciative.
Also I have seen the therapist list already, but I am curious if anyone on the forums has had experience with any of those therapists.
Thank you very much,
Michelle

If this list is not enough, I also have these therapists in Ohio:

COGDP has been active since 1979 and has many very satisfied graduates. Offers many levels of service including SRS referrals. Great help with self analysis, passing and coming out; facilitates acceptance. Individual & group meetings for the transgendered: pre & post op support. Optional meetings with families and/or spouses of both TV & TS.
Recommendation: She is wonderful. She used the Standards Of Care as guidelines but does not always make you wait a full 3 months for a letter. It depends on each individual. She offers group and individual sessions. I've only seen her 3 times but I can not say enough good things about her. HIGHLY RECOMENDED!! (from Beck)

If you are trans, Meral Crane will help you. Just be prepared for a lot of criticism of how non-masculine/feminine you look. Including humiliating physical comments. She will point out everything about your appearance that is not of your target gender. She also has her own ideals of how men and women should look. For instance, a man should never be overweight and should never have pretty hair. If his hair is blond and curly - there's a problem - that's just not male enough and he should do something about it. If he's overweight, he must immediately remedy that, as everybody knows men are never chubby. As for women - I have no idea what her specifications of womanly appearances are. Just swallow her BS, get your letters, and get out.

Well, thank you for the recommendation. Once we have the money I'll be checking into Meral Crane then. :)
Once again, thank you Nero and Tink.

Hey I just moved from Ohio not too long ago and I got my letter to start hormone therapy from doctor Avery Zook. He is located in Kent, OH which is about 25 minutes from Akron. He is a very understanding guy and really cares. Granted, he does not specialize in Gender Therapy but has seen several transgendered people and written several letters. He will give you the option to just do the assessment to get the letter or do continual therapy.
