Stop fretting.  You're 1 week into a 2+ year journey.  Relax and buckle up. :)

I have been on HRT almost 2 years and there are weeks when my breasts are super, super sore, to the point that it is almost painful to hug someone, and then there are weeks when I feel no soreness at all. I don't think soreness or lack of it is indicative of growth or stoppage of growth. It seems to be pretty random, at least for me.

Same thing for me. It's a long process. Think about it. When cis girls go through puberty they don't grow for 7 days and stop forever. It takes years to get to your final result. I know it's difficult, but patience is key. Good luck with HRT though! It's a roller coaster.

Omg lol relax =) . I am not feeling breast growth for 3 week. They are just ultra sensible to the touch. You wont get DD breast in 1 week . It might take you a year to reach A or B cup

First of all, my breasts were only very rarely sore (except when poked right in the nipple) and I got perfectly fine development. Soreness is *one* symptom, but it doesn't correlate directly to how much/if they're growing.  Secondly, breasts go through phases of growth - sometimes they're changing daily, it seems like, and sometimes they're "preparing" and nothing seems to happen until you have a growth spurt literally overnight. Thirdly, the one cup size smaller thing is a myth that gets perpetuated because it sounds plausible and nobody understands how bras work anyway; just like cis girls, you'll get what your genes say you should get from puberty. (It may not look quite as impressive on a trans woman with a bigger frame than she would have had if she'd had a cis puberty, alas.)

And lastly, it's been a week. Don't panic yet. :) Cis girls spend 5-10 years growing breasts, and so will we.

Hi Angélique,

The "subtract a size" is the greatest urban myth of all time. Just think about it. If you're great grandmother was a C cup, you're mother would be an A and any future generations wouldn't have breasts. My mother is a B and I'm a D, and my daughter is a EE, god bless her.

Just make sure you have a good Endo, who knows how to look after them, and feed you with the right stuff.

Speak to you as soon as I have a cuppa with the girls.

This is my experience as well. Growth seems to come in spurts associated with soreness but it's not consistent.

I wouldn't worry about it. Mine didn't hurt yesterday hardly and now today I can't touch them without getting a shock.

Breast growth comes and goes...you're fortunate to have some activity just a week into HRT! Like everyone else is saying...relax and enjoy the ride!

And keep massaging the Girls... 8)

A whole week? Oh, the humanity!!!

Actually, you're doing fine as some people don't see breast growth for months. Some are on HRT for years and get next to nothing.

Consider yourself lucky. And give it time!

This was me.  It was almost exactly 3 months before I had even the slightest tingle.  I'm now approaching two years on HRT and have just now gotten to a B cup.

I think it's been pretty well stated already but yes, it takes time and a *lot* of it before you've gotten everything you're going to get development-wise.

Hugs, and relax.....  you're doing fine :)

Yeah, I'd chill about this - your body has a way to go yet. Genetic women take two to three years to grow their breasts and HRT is no shortcut to that process. It is a sloooow biological process.

Don't know how accurate the "b" cup statement is, I went on Estrafem  , really low dosage on 1st Nov this year, that's 5 weeks and have a "b" cup already, (37" breastbone and 39 1/4 " around nipples = 2 1/4" of boobs) no soreness or anything, just filled up big time , my mother was a "c" cup and am seriously wondering where it's going to be after 2 yrs.

Cup size with the band size are the only way I know how to compare. A US36C is the same cup size as a US38B for example, while the band is tighter. The letters are meaningless to me without a band measurement, although I don't know a lot about the European and English measurements.
The subtracting "urban myth" thing is to look at the women in your family, average their measurements, and subtract a size. It's a general rule of thumb, not a hard and fast rule. Different proportions if you have a different frame will make a difference as well. Personally, I have about the same frame as my mom, with only slightly bigger shoulders, and we could comfortably wear each other's bras if we wanted.

For me those measurements never work.  My rib cage is 36.5 and bust is 42.5 and yet a 38B is still a little loose.  I think the size of your back muscles (lats) have a big effect on the measurement.  I've also seen some sites say to add 5 in to the band size before calculating the cup.  Either way, it seems more of an art than science coming up with the right measurement.

Everyone is different and will have different growth rates with different results  :icon_chick:  In my case my breasts became sore and began to mound at about a month but there wasn't any really noticeable results until about three months

After that the growth spurts seem to come in three month cycles

After about five or so years of trial and error to figure out my bra size, I eventually visited the Victoria's Secret store in the mall for a sizing and found that I had become a 38C  :icon_chick:

Just be patient

Hugs

From a generational perspective, that would have to be stating the Law of Deminishing Returns, even from a "General Rule of Thumb" would make it clearly incorrect. The urban myth has always centred on your Mother, and subtract a size from her, within 5 generations from her all women would be breast less. Beware the plethora of Transgender myths.

Sak to you as soon as I reset the mouse traps.

I honestly don't understand what you mean by subtracting every generation. It only applies to your own estimation of your prospective breast size. Your kids, grand kids and great grand kids don't use the same subtractive guesstimate. The reason you estimate by subtracting a size is because trans women tend to not have the same length of breast growth cycles, due to the lack of estrogen before treatment. The delay essentially means that many trans women don't make it past the Tanner III / IV stage, while cis women usually end up in the Tanner V for their development. If one of your biological parents is a trans woman as well, you're likely to have a similar breast size if you start HRT at around the same time in your life.

I busted the myth about breast growth, i actually have bigger breasts than my mother... so that urban myth can go and .....

As others here have said there really is no need to worry. We both started around the same time and I've had pain come and go there as well (happy it started so early to be honest).

I'd say wait a month and see how it feels then. Sit back and enjoy the ride!

It really is a process that you have to be patient with. I started off pretty strong, got into an A cup and then seemed to stagnate for about half a year. I had that general soreness or rather sensitivity to touch, but not the throbbing that I had before. But then I noticed bras fitting differently, and found I was a B cup, seemingly out of nowhere. So they had been growing all along even though it didn't seem like it. All that said, I feel like only recently, after two years, my breast growth is really starting to kick up a notch or two and I'm getting frequent pains and aches, and even have seen my nipples swell up with very visible growth. And though I've felt the breast buds come and go, they're certainly right there behind my nipples now. Had thought for sure they were gone at various points. And as much as they're growing now, I'll still have many days where I don't feel hardly anything. Just calm down and wait it out. :)

I went through about two months straight where I had to be very careful about what I bumped into. Even the seat belt caused pain. Haven't felt a thing except the occasional itch in the past month. They're coming in much slower than I would have been lead to believe based on sensitivity, but they are coming in.

I've always been annoyed by my chest.  My left pectoral muscle has always been larger than my right pectoral.  This is not improved -- I now have imbalanced pecs with imbalanced breast tissue... and now lefty is way bigger than righty.

I'm 4 months in.  I've got one A cup and one AA cup.  I'm hoping for balance eventually, but I'm not holding my breath.  Staying at an A cup would be super convenient.  Breasts get in the way.

I will concur with what has been said already, patience patience patience. Ive been at this  for a bit, and ya I wanted DD the first week. The reality is your body and cant change and grow that fast. Just chill and let your meds do their magic, and if need you can decide to get augmentation.   Best to you
