Sounds like wishful thinking to me.

Gender is important (or why would we transition). It is ever present in so much of human interaction.

We might as well get rid of "height" as well and start seeing everyone as exactly the same size. Think how much money we'll save on clothing if everyone were the same height. I don't see why humanity insists upon clinging to this archaic notion that some people have to be taller than everyone. Let's just be free from height entirely.
