To be honest I really don't like how my age group mostly dresses. I buy My clothes at Target and the clothes can be worn by any age. I wear either skinny jeans or knee high casual dresses. I live in a downtown area that's upper middle class to wealthy and for one thing I can't afford the clothes the women my age wear, but I prefer a lot younger style. Maybe I've been inhibited for so long that my style is younger. I don't dress like a teen , but I wear dresses that someone in their 20's would wear.

I definitely do not dress for my age group. It's just not my style. I dress more for myself.

My fashion sense is like a popstar. On my off days I lounge around in conmfy loose clothing, sweatpants/whatever. Cheetos at hand.
Then I dress up to a high end look on days I actually care...
I guess I dress like a 28-35 year old...

For work I dress age appropriately and in a manner deemed suitable for my profession. When on my own time I am more comfortable and stylish but still very conscious as to what is proper for a woman my age. This reflects who I am and how I want to be seen in the community and society in general.

I am fortunate to have a lot of personal freedom at this place in my life and I am not giving it up. When I first came out I was overwhelmed by how often people ragged on my clothing choices.... who needs fahionestas! or the fashion police? I wear what i want and that includes miniskirts, skorts and going braless. It may be that I am still in the thrall of transition and my second puberty but I like how I look and feel for me for now.
If others want to blend in and follow the dictates of others, have at it. I have been told that i dress in steam punk style whatever that is.??
I do go to formal events and meetings with reasonably familiar business attire especially if I am representing my District or College.

I'm late twenties and I dress in what makes me comfortable and happy. I've been told my fashion sense a bit on the gothic side, and there are a load of garments I want to get from Kate's Clothing and this awesome punk shop in Nottingham. But I mostly stick to rather basic clothing combinations - leggings/tunics, shirt/jeans or skirt.

I am 23. Usually, I wear sweat pants and a polo shirt, but if I had the funds, I would go for a more conservative look....suspenders, black pants, white sleeved shirt....heavy flannel....olive garb shirts, etc. stuff like that.

I turn 31 at the end of this month ;D My favorite brand is Free People, but I can't even afford a pair knickers from them. So I try and emulate their look with cheaper brands and I'll add something that pays homage to the current fashion trend E.g at the moment Alice bands and lots of metallic adornments. I do dress a bit more alternative some days and I do have some ridiculously short skirts/mini dresses in my arsenal :) Ooooh I shop at Kates Clothing too Kimberley, I adore her reverse auction sales.
Here is me last Halloween. First time I've ever dressed up, I had so much fun! But in answer to the OP's question, sometimes  >:-)

This is a good place to repeat a quote that used to be my signature line here: "Dress your personality not your age." It's from a Hollywood fashion consultant named Ginger Burr. I never think much about age in dressing or choosing a hairstyle, but I do try to dress to suit the occasion and situation.

No heels for me either. Wish I could, but back surgeries and the fear of falling rules. Have only been full time since May so I'm building my wardrobe a little at a time. Living on the TX Gulf Coast defines a lot of what I wear and being retired helps a lot. No miniskirts for me either. With a large upper body and legs that look like toothpicks I'd look pretty ridiculous. Did "hotpants" in the 70's with platform shoes, but those days are gone. No tomboy looks for me though, I like to look femme!

I wear what women of any age might wear. Teens are a bit more esoteric but I do wear some junior fashions. I typically go for solid pastels and minimal jewelry. I do wear wedges from time to time with long skirts. Mostly I put on jeans or slacks with a cotton top. I'm pretty boring but I refuse to be a tom boy anymore.

Exactly.
I dress like a techie millenial a lot of times. Sometimes I just dress casual, jeans and t shirt.
For formal events I dress like I did in my avatar (simple dress, uncomplicated necklace, simple flat shoes or pumps).

There is such a variety in what women my age wear, that dressing for my age is a fairly low bar to attain. Having said that though, I dress fairly "urban woman" (nice shirt/top, jeans, boots, handbag) every day. A few days a month i wear a skirt or a dress.

I like to dress well and as much as I'd love the mini skirts, halter tops and 5" stiletto heels and leopard prints, it just doesn't look good on me.
I dress in stylish outfits that are closer to my age category but nothing that would get me on Jerry Springer! However, to each their own look and to Hell with the fashion police!
Love,

The one good thing about being "of a certain age" is that the sexuality component is much less. Knee length plain skirts, usually jean, with little detailing. Mary janes of good quality. Hey, my feet hurt from heels. But I LOVE detailed blouses. Anything embroidered, detailed, and/or subtly expressing of femininity. Think "ladies who lunch." I have always collected fabric antiques like quilts and beaded purses. While we could never afford my tastes in new items, my wife spends weekends haunting the better 2nd hand places and boutiques. I sometimes wear crisp, structured plain tops and sport one of my vintage sparkly costume pins, the only "sparkly" stuff I will wear.

I dress, day to day, like your well meaning but slightly naïve single friend - you know, the nice girl who can be a little bad. Just jeans or jeggings, plain top and cardie. If I want to formal up a bit then I'll put on a jacket and dressier top. For glam it's all about black trousers, nice tops and heels. Or dresses!! I've got quite a few from demure daytime tunic tops to swishier and floatier things for the nights.
And I don't dress like your single friend. I am your single friend ;) which is why it sort of goes together.

I'm in my 30's but I look 25 and I dress like teeny boppers of 16-18 years old :D
