:-\ Hey everybody-
Sorry about doing my second post like this. It's going to be like this til things change. I have been living in the same apartment complex since 2001 with virtually no problems. Now ever since the change in onsite management I have had no end of discrimination related issues. To start with he decided to transfer me from my apartment on the second floor to a unit five floors up {btw no respectable landlord would ever place a handicapped person on an upper floor; I was originally told that I would be there until they were done remodeling and I'm still here four years later}. Shortly after the change in management they began bringing a social worker {they call it an RSC} in and they started holding activities {examples of these are bingo, bible study etc}. Btw I am totally against having a social worker in an apartment complex! And I can't really relate to any of the other resident tenants. When I decided that I wasn't going to meet with the RSC and attend the events the onsite manager forced me to rehome one of my animals {which I am hoping to be able to get back}. He constantly makes rude comments to me. And on top of that the water in my apartment doesn't warm up enough to be able to bathe! I have actually become sick from trying to bathe in here! The onsite manager doesn't know that I am trans yet. But I don't know what I am going to do once I go to GRC and start the other part of the transition. It's bad enough that I am looking at trying to find an alternative place to stay and have even considered taking my guinea pigs and my cat {and whatever else I can carry} and leaving!!
Sorry again,
Get back to me,
Dylan :-\

You need too check on your states tenants rights, that is if you live in the USA. In Texas the landlord can get in trouble for what they are doing too you, I ought to know, been to eviction court twice and won, going to court today for the second time with this landlord and I'm asking for a continuation while I finish gathering evidence to counter sue him. I know the tenant rights in Texas.

Dear Dylan;
As Cheryl says and I agree, you probably have a case against the property owner as certain things have to be provided such as hot water. I hope that things get settled but I feel that you might have to relocate in the future as complaining, even legitimately sometimes brings repercussions.
Document everything to support your case and good luck to you.
I had a number of guinea pigs and found them to be amusing companions.
Love,
Clare
